Opening of the 2nd Expert Committee Conducted Ceremoniously

On Nov. 16, 2018, UCD conducted a grand occasion in Beijing for the opening of its second expert committee. UCD leaders, including General Manager Wang Hanjun, Deputy General Manager Wang Liang, Deputy General Manager Ma Haizhi, Deputy General Manager Yin Zhiguo and Chief Financial Officer Xiao Mujun, attended the meeting. Other attendees included members of UCD’s second expert committee, persons in charge of UCD’s HR department, academician and expert office and department of technical quality, leaders of business units, technical directors, heads of the technical quality office, academic secretaries of expert groups and young and middle-aged employee representatives chosen by the experts for further cultivation, reaching a total of more than 160 persons. The meeting was presided over by Yang Xiuren, Chief Engineer and Vice Director of the second expert committee.

Yang Xiuren firstly made a brief introduction to the second expert committee. The second expert committee consists of 10 expert groups with more than 100 specialists, and the groups include Senior Expert Advisor Group, Rail Transit Group, Rail Transit Structure Group, Rail Transit Equipment Group, Urban Planning & Architectural Design Group, Municipal Transportation Group, Survey Group, Construction & Safety Group, Operation Group and Operation Management Group. Then a ceremony for the appointment of second experts to the committee was conducted and UCD leaders present at the meeting issued letters of appointment to the experts. 

Wu Dan, head of the HR department of the permanent office of the expert committee, introduced the working mechanism of the expert committee to the meeting, including Management Measures for the Expert Committee and its supporting documents, namely, Working Mechanism for Expert Consultation Under the Expert Committee and Working Mechanism for Talent Cultivation Under the Expert Committee, as well as talent cultivation work to be conducted under the said expert committee, and announced the name list of young and middle-aged employees chosen for further cultivation under the expert committee. Then at the talent cultivation of the second expert committee signing ceremony experts and students appeared on the stage together to sign the cultivation agreement and start the cultivation work file.

Afterwards, Yang Xiuren read out the remarks written by Shi Zhongheng, academician and director of the second expert committee, followed by nine expert representatives appearing on the stage to deliver remarks.

In the end, General Manager Wang Hanjun walked on to the stage to deliver remarks. He said that opening of the second expert committee turned a new chapter for UCD’s talent construction and innovative development and mentioned that General Secretary Xi Jinping has pointed out that development is of primary importance, talented personnel is the primary resource and innovation is the primary motive power. Depending on the international capital market, UCD has formed a brand-new development pattern featuring urban rail transit and coordinated development of the whole industry chain. On this basis, by optimizing the selection and appraisal mechanism and deeply tapping the influential and prestigious expert potentials to constitute a strong contingent of specialists under the second expert committee, UCD has realized the further exaltation of its core competitiveness. UCD is firmly convinced that, on the principle of“depending on experts to agglomerate wisdom and wisdom to drive development”, the new expert committee will play an irreplaceable role in opening up important markets, demonstrating major programs, tackling difficult technical problems, probing into technical innovations, conducting project operation and management and innovating on ways for talent cultivation, and will become a backbone force for the growth of UCD and progress of the industry to boost the permanent development of UCD and the industry at large to move constantly towards still greater achievements!
