UCD Wins 20 National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards in 2025

UCD has been presented with 20 prizes of the 2025 National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Award, organized by China Engineering & Consulting Association, including 6 first prizes, 7 second prizes and 3 third prizes, fully demonstrating its leading role in the sector of engineering survey and design.

Encompassing engineering survey, design, and related domains, the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Award is the most prestigious honor in its field in China. It also serves as a benchmark for the industry’s advanced technology and authoritative recognition. UCD’s prizes span categories including architectural design, residential community design, municipal utility engineering design, engineering survey, engineering survey and design software, as well as civil air defense engineering design. This embodies the company’s technological innovation capabilities on all fronts.

First Prize Exhibition

One Sino Park (Beijing’s Residential Community)

Following the design concept of “Chinese Soul and Western Technology”, the project blends the essence of Chinese traditional architecture and modern techniques, making One Sino Park a representative of high-quality residences in Beijing. Its early use of prefabricated structures is convenient for beam-free, light-filled interiors that maximize space and views. The well-being of residents is enhanced through features such as an entrance water courtyard, a sunken clubhouse, covered corridors, French-style balconies, and open LDK (Living-Dining-Kitchen) areas, while slope roofs refine the façade. Besides, the philosophy of eco-friendly and sustainable development guides the integrated application of green buildings, intelligent technology and sponge city design.

Changchun Rail Transit Line 6 (Municipal Utility Engineering Design)

With the goal of lowering costs, shortening the construction period and boosting returns, the project has tackled four key difficulties, that is, short effective days for construction, substantial traffic pressures, complex insulation requirements and difficult vibration damping in a co-constructed framework. Thanks to the R&D of a series of internationally leading technologies, including fully prefabricated subway stations and integrated vibration control technology based on both vibration source and receiver, UCD has established a new model for urban rail transit with the elements of green building, resource sharing, energy efficiency and economic sustainability, fully highlighting the guiding value of technological innovation.

Digital and Intelligent Collaborative Design Platform (Engineering Survey and Design Software)

As a platform dedicated to data collaboration for intelligent construction of major projects like rail transit, it achieves deep integration of BIM and AI, supporting a complete top-down design process covering data planning, digital design and intelligent review. With a shared data foundation, the platform sets up a collaborative design ecosystem that ensures data synergy across disciplines and throughout the project lifecycle, making a leap in design quality and efficiency. An integral system of standards, patents, and software copyrights has been formulated to strongly boost the industry’s digital transformation and intelligent upgrading.

“1+4+N” Intelligent Base for Urban Underground Space Geological Big Data

A trinity geological big-data governance system, consisting of global governance, intelligent platforms and secure circulation, has been established in the project. By means of multi-source data fusion, intelligent 3D modeling and trusted circulation technology, UCD has developed China’s first intelligent platform for urban underground space geology to address key challenges such as data silos, inefficient modeling and circulation risks, and facilitate the transformation of geological data into productive factors, thus providing critical technological support for new basic surveying and mapping and modernization of natural resource governance.

Key Technology and Engineering Application for the Beijing Metro Line 17 Project: Multi-Dimensional Collaborative Surveying, Intelligent Monitoring, and Precision Precipitation Design under Complex Geological Conditions (Engineering Survey)

Grounded on reliable survey data, the project ensures Line 17 runs through major risk zones safely and secures Beijing’s critical infrastructure. By building a millimeter-precision warning system via third-party monitoring, it successfully averted multiple deformation-related hazards through proactive risk alerts. This case offers a replicable, systematic solution for metro construction in complex megacity settings, becoming a benchmark for integrated survey, monitoring and geotechnical design.

Hangzhou Central Project (Engineering Survey)

This project, situated in the Wulin square commercial zone, is made up of two tall buildings and a six-story basement, featuring a 170m×130m excavation with a maximum depth of 35m. It serves as the deepest civil excavation in Hangzhou’s downtown area. The foundation pit is merely 6.0 m from an active metro line, with dense surrounding utilities and a 25.0 m thick layer of soft mucky clay. After implementing a coordinated design strategy, comprehensive technologies such as a divided foundation pit in soft soils based on time-space effects and a stepped, multi-bench retaining foundation pit are employed to precisely control the deformation, supporting metro operations and smooth project execution.
