UCD Attends the 2025 China International Metro Transit Exhibition & CAMET Forum

On September 18-20, the 2025 China International Metro Transit Exhibition & CAMET Forum sponsored by the China Association of Metros was grandly held in Qingdao. As a leading enterprise in the field of urban rail transport design and consultation, UCD was honored to accept the gracious invitation. Xia Xiujiang, general manager and secretary of the Party Committee of UCD, attended the event.

This event took “Innovation Drives Breakthrough, Advancing into a New Era of Urban Rail” as the theme. UCD was deeply involved in planning and organizing a thematic achievement exhibition, successfully hosting a sub-forum, and advancing a series of collaborative implementations and outcome promotions, including the inauguration of the National Engineering Research Center Shenyang Branch, signing of one high-tech achievement, intensive display of 20 innovative outcomes, and the launch of the first comprehensive evaluation academic work in urban rail transit sector. After its presence in multi-faceted areas, UCD comprehensively demonstrated its cutting-edge concepts, innovative technologies, and industrial achievements in advancing the sustainable and high-quality development of urban rail transit, greatly enhancing its brand impact.

Forum Voice: High-end Dialogue Facilitates the Industry Development

During the event, the Sub-Forum on Innovation and Development in Standard Systems, jointly hosted by the Specialized Committee of Design and Consultation and the Technical Committee on Standards of the China Association of Metros, was organized by UCD.

When addressing the keynote speech, Xia Xiujiang indicated that the standard system is the bedrock of urban rail transit, spearheading its standardized development, innovative technology, and premium quality. It plays a pivotal role in guiding the industry throughout its entire life cycle, from initial planning and design, through construction, to routine operations management. He stressed that adhering to the principle of “Design Leads, With Standards First”, UCD members proactively engage in the construction of industrial standard systems, continue to explore the pathway for high-quality development, and vigorously promote international cooperation on standards. As a primary formulator of China's urban rail standards and a driving force behind their global adoption, UCD aims to gather intellectual talents of the industry to make thorough exchange of critical issues such as the innovation of the standard system, high-quality development, and the convergence of standards, and regards the sub-forum as a platform to propel standardization breakthroughs and their practical implementation, thereby advancing the urban rail sector towards its strategic objectives of "smart systems, environmental sustainability, integrated development, and independent innovation".

During the Conference Series Forum, UCD’s design masters and industry experts were invited to deliver speeches and make high-end exchanges. At the Sub-Forum on Standard System Innovation and Development, Wang Chen, deputy secretary-general of the Specialized Committee of Design and Consultation of the China Association of Metros and deputy general manager of UCD, delivered a report titled "Reflections on the Renovation of Existing Urban Rail Lines and the Design Standard System". At the National Master Forum, Masters Yang Xiuren and Yu Songwei shared insightful presentations on "Innovation Practices and Reflections in Urban Rail Transit Technology" and "Urban Rail Transit: From Technical Systems to an Open Technology-Social Complex Macro-System", respectively. What’s more, our experts, including Tang Mingming, Chen Peng, Li Xintao, Chen Mingdian, and Feng Xipei, delivered speeches at multiple forums, garnering widespread attention across the industry.

Strategic Agreement Signing: Advancing Collaborative Success

At the High-Tech Fair, the program named "All-Weather Intelligent Risk Identification Model and Related Smart Equipment for Urban Infrastructure Construction" raised by Agiletech Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of UCD, attracted significant attention.

Under the joint witness of Song Minhua and Zhong Jianhua (vice chairmen of the China Association of Metros), Xia Xiujiang (general manager and secretary of the Party Committee of UCD), Yu Songwei (National Engineering Survey and Design Master), and Wang Ziliang (deputy general manager of Shenyang Metro), Agiletech Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreements with Beijing MTR Construction Administration Corporation and Shenyang Metro, marking the formal implementation of the innovative achievement in the urban rail transit projects of Beijing and Shenyang, offering a wholly new solution for intelligent safety management and control in urban infrastructure construction.

At the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation of the National Engineering Research Center, Zhong Jianhua (vice chairman of the China Association of Metros), Huang Jianwei (deputy secretary-general), Xia Xiujiang (general manager and secretary of the Party Committee of UCD), and Ning Xinghua (president of Shenyang Metro), attended the opening ceremony of the National Engineering Research Center Shenyang Branch. This branch will integrate superior resources of the association, enterprises, and local entities to address key technical challenges in the industry and accelerate the transformation of innovative achievements together, posing significant importance for enhancing the green and safe standards of urban rail construction on all fronts.

The National Engineering Research Center led by UCD is the only national-level engineering research center in China's urban rail transit sector approved by the National Development and Reform Commission to focus on green and safe construction technologies. As a vital platform for technological innovation and achievements transformation in the urban rail transit field, this center has developed multiple innovative technologies that have reached international leading standards, including technologies in prefabricated metro station construction, prefabricated track construction, safety management and control for construction and operation, and intelligent monitoring of track structure systems, as well as serialized information platforms and soil-structure integration theory, providing significant support for breaking through the bottlenecks of core technologies in the sector and enhancing the foundation for high-quality development.

Exhibition: Showcasing 20+ Innovative Achievements

UCD, a supporting organization of the Specialized Committee of Design and Consultation of the China Association of Metro, organized the Special Exhibition called the “New Quality Productive Forces - Innovative Achievements in Urban Rail Design & Consulting”, prioritizing the promotion of cutting-edge fruits of innovation in the sector. Apart from that, UCD was also a participant in the business exhibition, where it displayed the latest breakthroughs and applications in technological innovation and product development.

UCD showcased over 20 innovative achievements at the exhibition, spanning multiple areas like the renovation of urban rail transit lines, operational safety and efficiency, construction safety risk management, and green & low-carbon. Over ten technical outcomes made their appearance at the exhibition, including planning and retrofitting for urban rail transit lines, development of evaluation and technical standard systems for facility and equipment conditions, a cavity detection system for tunnel primary lining, innovative methods for rectifying excessive deformation in shield tunnels, development and application of novel degraded mode strategies for urban rail signal systems, research on waterproofing technologies for underground structure joints, and power tracking control technology for electrochemical energy storage stations in urban rail transit.

The exhibition also featured over 10 technological solutions from Beijing Urban Construction Exploration & Surveying Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Agiletech Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd. (both are subsidiaries of UCD), including a low-altitude intelligent inspection and management platform for metro protection zones, a cloud-based platform for intelligent safety risk monitoring in construction projects, advanced cavity detection equipment behind tunnel linings utilizing high-energy lasers Doppler vibration measurement technology, and a quality-safety large model for urban rail transit.

During that period, the book Introduction to Urban Rail Transit Evaluation, authored by Yu Songwei, UCD’s advisory chief engineer and National Engineering Survey and Design Master, was grandly released. It fills an academic gap in the field of comprehensive evaluation within the urban rail transit industry, providing essential theoretical and practical approaches for managers in planning, construction and operation, technical professionals, college teachers and students, as well as researchers.

Furthermore, UCD's leaders, accompanied by relevant department heads, were engaged in talks with client representatives from Qingdao, Shenyang, Xi'an, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shanghai and Nanning.
