UCD Makes a Strong Presence at 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services
On September 10, the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at Shougang Park. UCD presented its first implemented project from the National “Better Housing” Design Competition, the world’s first prefabricated track construction technology, and the industry’s first intelligent risk identification model, showcasing its latest research achievements and products in green and smart construction.
Leading the nation in “Quality Homes”
The “Quality Homes” section of the Beijing Exploration and Design Industry Joint Exhibition Area, curated by Beijing Institute of Residential Building Design & Research Co., Ltd. (BRDR) under UCD, featured projects spanning commercial housing, affordable housing, and old community renovation. It comprehensively showcased the progress of the “Quality Homes” initiative from pilot programs to large-scale implementation.
BRDR showcased several key projects, including the first implemented project of the National “Better Housing” Design Competition—LONGFOR INNER LAND; one of Beijing’s first high-standard commercial housing projects under the architect responsibility system—ONE SINO PARK; an exemplary residential project applying the Technical Guidelines for Quality Home Construction Planning and Management in Multiple New Towns in Beijing’s Flatlands (Trial)—NOVA CITY; and a quality housing pilot project for demolition and renovation of existing buildings in Beijing—Building 6, Chuiyangliu Xili, Shuangjing Subdistrict. In addition, BRDR also unveiled its “Smart Living, Joyful Living” model unit. Based on floorplans from the implemented projects of the National “Better Housing” Design Competition, the model unit adopts a full prefabricated interior system, smart home system, refined storage design, and incorporates green building materials and livability-focused techniques. It highlights technological innovations and practical achievements in building green, low-carbon, intelligent and safe homes.
The world’s first prefabricated track construction technology
UCD’s prefabricated track construction technology, the first of its kind both in China and globally, has an industrialized construction model and technical system with fully independent intellectual property, covering theory, design, manufacturing, construction, operation and maintenance. It represents a new generation of track structure construction technology and drives a fundamental shift in traditional construction methods toward industrialization and commercialization. As a landmark innovation in urban rail transit, it was awarded the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in the 2022 Beijing Science and Technology Award.
This technology offers high construction precision, effectively suppresses rail defects and achieves vibration reduction of over 10 dB, meeting high-level vibration control standards. It streamlines construction by cutting more than 15 procedures, boosts fine adjustment efficiency of track slabs by 30 times, doubles overall construction efficiency, and reduces labor requirements by 70%. In operation and maintenance, efficiency improves by 70 times compared with traditional methods, thus solving the long-standing challenge of track structure overhaul and replacement on operating lines. The technology has already been widely applied in rail transit projects across more than ten cities, including Hangzhou, Suzhou, Qingdao and Chongqing, covering over 2,000 kilometers.
The industry’s first intelligent identification model
Beijing Agiletech Engineering Consultant Co., Ltd. (AECC), a subsidiary of UCD, independently developed the industry’s first intelligent risk identification model for urban infrastructure safety management. Applicable to construction sites, foundation pits, tunnels and other operational scenarios in urban rail transit, buildings, airports and water conservancy projects, the model provides government agencies, construction project owners, supervisors and construction entities with an efficient and convenient tool for safety inspections, supervision, and hazard detection.
Relying on tens of millions of images accumulated over years by AECC, the Intelligent Risk Identification Model uses advanced Transformer technology and is built on the state-of-the-art ViT architecture. It can automatically detect and analyze potential safety hazards in monitoring images and instantly provide corresponding mitigation strategies. As a highly intelligent risk identification product with outstanding overall performance, the model is set to advance construction safety management toward smart, iterative upgrades. It is currently deployed in more than ten cities, including Xiamen and Chongqing.
