UCD Party Committee Holds 2024 Democratic Life Meeting

As required by the Party committee of BUCG, the counterpart of UCD held a democratic life meeting for 2024 on January 20, where attendees were requested to study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, consolidate the results of Party discipline learning and education campaign, fully utilize the role of Party discipline education as constraints, guarantees, and incentives, delve into Party character, expound the root causes and do work more effectively and solidly.

Qi Jifeng, head of the third supervision group of BUCG, and Zhou Aobo, a member of the review and investigation sub-office under the discipline inspection and supervision office, gave instructions on site. Xia Xiujiang, Party chief and general manager of UCD, chaired the meeting and made concluding remarks. The attendees also include members of the company's leadership.

To hold the democratic life meeting, the Party committee of UCD carefully worked out a working scheme, and members of the leadership talked about in-depth Party discipline learning, extensively solicited opinions, comprehensively sorted out problems, analyzed typical cases, and carefully wrote inspection materials and speech outlines. Full preparations have been made.

At the meeting, UCD announced the implementation of corrective measures from the democratic life meeting about studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and from the democratic life meeting about inspections and rectifications, and the solicitation of opinions.

Xia carried out a comparative check to identify gaps and deficiencies in four aspects and dissect the causes of problems, and clarified corrective measures. Afterwards, Xia delivered a speech, followed by other members of the leadership one by one. They checked problems, exchanged ideas and seriously engaged in criticism and self-criticism.

Qi affirmed the solid and adequate preparations for the meeting, and attendees' sincerity in self-criticism and honesty in mutual criticism. The meeting is conducive to the unity of thought, enhancement of solidarity, mutual supervision and common improvement.

Qi emphasized that UCD should step up the establishment of the Party's innovative theories, improve political judgment, understanding and execution, establish Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and establish the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, resolutely uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and resolutely uphold the Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership. Problems should be rectified efficiently. A rectification scheme for the leadership and a rectification list for individuals should be worked out based on the opinions solicited before the meeting, views from mutual criticism at the meeting and uncorrected problems since the convening of such democratic life meeting, with an aim to achieve the coordinated implementation of the rectifications. It should be strict and serious in intra-Party political life. Party organizations at the grassroots level should hold meetings of their activities, and leadership members should participate in such meetings of Party branches as ordinary Party members and take the lead in engaging in criticism and self-criticism. UCD should continually perform duties and overcome difficulties. The company should align ideas and actions with the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee, play an exemplary role in strengthening the Party discipline construction, and do business and contribute to the overall situation with a more energetic state. Leveraging its cumulative advantages in metro and rail development, UCD should actively integrate into the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the development of Beijing, the capital of China, in the new era, and proactively take on responsibilities in the process of basically realizing socialist modernization. Investments should be made in pioneering, small, long-term and sci-tech projects that the country needs, innovation requires and UCD can complete, with a view to contributing to the building of China into a strong power in science and technology and in transportation and the cultivation of new quality productive forces, and making more and greater contributions to writing the chapter of Chinese modernization in Beijing.

Xia said in his concluding remarks that the democratic life meeting enabled the company's leadership to experience a political baptism, political review and collective reflection, with the desired effect achieved.

He said that via the democratic life meeting, UCD should consolidate the achievements of Party discipline learning and education, give full play to the role of Party discipline education as constraints, guarantees, and incentives, and lay a solid foundation for unswervingly full and strict governance over the Party and its high-quality development. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, it should further cement its defense with theories, improve the capabilities of promoting reform and innovation with scientific theories, and translate learning outcomes into corporate development achievements. Rectifications should be collectively made to the problems discovered at the democratic life meeting, uncorrected problems at such meeting since the launch of an education campaign and unfinished problems during inspections and audits. Rectification measures should be detailed and good results should be achieved. It should take this democratic life meeting as an opportunity to further adopt a serious and meticulous approach to intra-Party political life and create a good political ecology. It is imperative to give full play to intra-Party oversight and normalize the "four forms of oversight", trying to create a good situation of unity and common development and gather power to build UCD into a design-leading integrated service provider for urban construction.
