Beijing Urban Construction Design and Technology Industrial Park Officially In Use

On the morning of October 17th, the opening ceremony of the Beijing Urban Construction Design and Technology Industrial Park was held with great fanfare. Mr. Pei Hongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Urban Construction Group, and President of Design & Development Group, as well as company leaders, attended the ceremony. Nearly a hundred people, including leaders from the company’s administrative and functional departments and various units, employee representatives from the enterprises located in the park, and leaders from units participating in the construction, were present at the event.

Beijing Urban Construction Design and Technology Industrial Park represents another important initiative by the company to further consolidate talent, technology, research platforms, and other innovative resources to promote the clustering and industrial development of technological innovation. The park is located in Shunyi District, Beijing, and is a modern, high-quality enterprise park that integrates research, production, and office functions.

The total area of the park is over 31,000 square meters, with a building area of over 11,000 square meters, including four buildings. It features supporting functions such as research experiments, intelligent manufacturing, archive management, and office services. Among these, research experiments and testing & surveys are the core functions of the park. It is equipped with world-first and internationally leading research technologies and facilities, including a high-end underground structural assembly testing platform and a new type of rail comprehensive testing platform. These facilities can handle nearly 300 research experiments and testing needs, including static testing of underground structures, fatigue testing of rail structures, as well as various infrastructure, construction project testing, and environmental testing. Currently, more than 30 laboratories, including the National Engineering Research Center and the Rail Transit Energy Efficiency Engineering Technology Center, have already completed their move-in, providing powerful theoretical support and results for production and performance, promoting improved quality and efficiency for the company, and injecting new momentum into the industrialization of the company’s technology.

Wang Hanjun, in his address, stated that as a promoter and leader of technological innovation in the field of urban rail transit in China, UCD has a long-standing tradition of innovation. In recent years, the company has proactively moved beyond its traditional strengths in rail transit survey and design. Leveraging its proprietary research results, patents, and software copyrights, it has boldly embarked on the new track of technological innovation. This initiative has not only promoted the improvement and efficiency of the company but has also incubated dozens of technological products, opening the door to the development of new business. The launch of the park marks a new chapter in advancing technological innovation to a higher stage and level. It will serve as a new starting point, striving to build the park into a new highland for technological innovation, a gathering place for high-level talents, and a new platform for promoting the development of the scientific and technological industry.

Pei Hongwei pointed out that Beijing Urban Construction Design and Technology Industrial Park is an important initiative by the Design & Development Group to integrate research resources and promote technological innovation. It is also an innovative measure by the Urban Construction Group to optimize resource allocation, establish technological testing and application scenarios, and create a base for incubating technological achievements. As a large state-owned construction enterprise under municipal administration, the Urban Construction Group has always adhered to innovation-driven development. It has fully harnessed the leading role in technological innovation, continuously promoted the integration of innovative elements, and the transformation of technological achievements.
