Two Metro Lines Designed by UCD Opened

On September 28th, the Phase I Project of Zhengzhou Metro Line 10, mainly designed by UCD, was inaugurated. This marks Zhengzhou’s first fully automated metro with a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. With its opening, the line will better serve the transportation needs between the western new city and the central urban area in Zhengzhou, facilitating the city’s westward expansion and providing citizens with more convenient transportation services.
The Phase I Project spans from Zhengzhou West Railway Station to Zhengzhou Railway Station in Erqi District. It is a rapid transit link radiating from the central urban area to the western new city. The line covers a total distance of approximately 21.84 kilometers, all underground. It comprises 12 stations, connecting two major transportation hubs: Zhengzhou Railway Station and Zhengzhou West Railway Station. It stands as the only metro line in Zhengzhou that links the two railway hubs.

On September 29th, the South Extension Line of Shenyang Metro Line 2, mainly designed by UCD, commenced operation, which will better meet the travel needs of Shenyang residents, facilitate urban development space expansion, boost economic and social development along the line, and inject new vitality into regional development.
The South Extension Line is the first “airport line” of Shenyang Metro. The northern terminus begins at the existing Quanyunlu Station of Metro Line 2 and it extends to the southern end at Taoxian Airport Station. Covering a distance of 13.7 kilometers with 7 stations, this extension, after fully integrated with the existing line, expands the total length of Metro Line 2 to 47 kilometers, making it Shenyang’s longest operating metro line to date.
