The 6th CECA Forum on Energy Conservation and Low Carbon Technology of Urban Rail Transit Held in Nanjing

On September 17-18, the 6th (2023) CECA Forum on Energy Conservation and Low Carbon Technology of Urban Rail Transit was held in Nanjing, at which over 200 experts and scholars in the urban rail industry present. This forum is themed on "Energy-saving Technology Development and Low-carbon Operation Strategy of Urban Rail Transit in the Context of High-quality Development", with focus on the national "carbon neutrality and peak carbon dioxide emissions" strategy, so as to pursue the road of energy-saving and low-carbon innovation and development of urban rail.

This forum is guided by China Energy Conservation Association (CECA), sponsored by China Energy Conservation Association Urban Rail Transit Energy Conservation Professional Committee, undertaken by Nanjing Metro Group Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Civil Engineering & Architecture Society Urban Rail Transit Construction Professional Committee, Nanjing TICA Climate Solutions Co., Ltd., and co-organized by UCD and Beijing Engineering Research Center for Rail Transit Energy Conservation.

Attended at the meeting were the leaders of relevant departments of Jiangsu provincial government and Nanjing municipal government, 20 national rail transit design, construction and operation organizations such as National Energy Conservation Center, China Energy Conservation Association, Jiangsu Civil Engineering & Architecture Society and Nanjing Metro Group, domestic experts in the field of urban rail transit, scholars from well-known universities and research institutes, and members of China Energy Conservation Association Urban Rail Energy Conservation Professional Committee.

Main Forum: Focus on High-end Dialogue of “Carbon Neutrality and Peak Carbon Dioxide Emissions”

The main forum focuses on the theme of "Energy-saving Technology Development and Low-carbon Operation Strategy of Urban Rail Transit in the Context of High-quality Development". Senior industry experts share new ideas, new research results and practical experience from their different research fields, injecting new wisdom into the industry and providing experience for reference.
Themed on “Green and Low-carbon Development Approach in the Context of Carbon Neutrality and Peak Carbon Dioxide Emissions”, Song Zhongkui, Secretary General of China Energy Conservation Association put forward new ideas and models to realize green development in respect of promoting energy supply structure optimization, greatly improving energy efficiency level, strengthening fine management of energy and making full use of incentive policies, etc. Hence, this is to constantly tap the potential of energy conservation and emission reduction, improve energy efficiency level, and promote the green and low-carbon transformation of urban rail transit.
Themed on "High-quality Development – Implementing Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction, and Creating Green Urban Rail", Xu Xuejun, Honorary Director of Jiangsu Civil Engineering & Architecture Society Urban Rail Transit Construction Professional Committee shared the outstanding achievements of Nanjing Metro in green planning, construction, operation, operation and maintenance by adhering to the concept of green development, actively promoting scientific and rational network planning, concentrating on intelligent technology and equipment innovation, and actively promoting the pilot application of green and low-carbon technologies.
Themed on "Current Situation and Development Direction of Urban Rail Energy Conservation and Low-carbon Technology ", Li Guoqing, Vice Chairman of China Energy Conservation Association, Director of Urban Rail Energy Conservation Professional Committee and Party Secretary of UCD introduced the requirements of national policies on energy-saving and low-carbon technologies and the current situation of energy conservation work in urban rail industry. Further, he made a detailed introduction to promoting energy-saving and low-carbon development direction in urban rail industry from the aspects of promoting the establishment of energy-saving standard system in urban rail industry, vigorously strengthening energy-saving research in the whole process of urban rail industry, enhancing comprehensive energy-saving research in all factors and boosting the transformation of energy-saving and low-carbon technology achievements in urban rail industry.
Themed on "Exploration and Practice for Energy-saving and Low-carbon Life Development of Nanjing Metro", Zhao Zhenjiang, Chief Engineer of Nanjing Metro Operation Co., Ltd., shared a series of explorations and practices of Nanjing Metro Operation Company in the whole field of planning, construction and operation, as well as a string of achievements in system construction, technology application and planning prospect.
Themed on "Sharing High Efficiency Air Conditioning System Project in Xiaozhuang Station of Nanjing Metro", Lin Hao, Director of Nanjing Fuca Automation Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the technical implementation path of system optimization, application of high efficiency equipment, re-matching optimization control and on-site fine debugging, so as to realize the efficient operation of ventilation and air conditioning system and continuously explore the energy-saving potential of ventilation and air conditioning system.

Themed on "Application and Case Analysis of DC Lighting Energy-saving Technology in Rail Transit", Hu Qi, Director of Shenzhen Increase Technology Co., Ltd., shared the implementation and application of INCREASE DC power supply lighting scheme in the field of rail transit, giving full play to the advantages of energy conservation, safety, reliability and intelligence of this technical scheme, and bringing excellent industry value to users.

Sub-forum: Technological Innovation Helps Industry Development

On the afternoon of September 17, the Sub-forum on Exploration and Application of Energy-saving Innovative Technology for Electromechanical Equipment of Urban Rail Transit and the Sub-forum on Innovation Technology and Low-carbon Operation Strategy of Traction Power Supply of Urban Rail Transit were held simultaneously. Combined with the goal of "carbon neutrality and peak carbon dioxide emissions" and adhering to the concept of green development, 16 industry experts and enterprise representatives exchanged and discussed from different angles such as energy conservation and carbon reduction, development strategy, application of innovative technology and integration of green and intelligence, and made suggestions for promoting low-carbon development of rail transit.

According to the meeting arrangement, a visit was also organized to Xiaozhuang Station of Nanjing Metro, Nanjing TICA Climate Solutions and TICA Energy on September 18, with field investigation on the current situation, construction and operation, and resource development of Nanjing Metro.

The China Energy Conservation Association Urban Rail Transit Energy Conservation Professional Committee was established in 2017, with its secretariat located in Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group. Since its establishment six years ago, the Urban Rail Transit Energy Conservation Professional Committee has actively fulfilled the responsibilities of industry associations, mobilized the planning, design, construction and operation of the national urban rail industry to promote energy conservation, and carried out a series of work such as exploration of innovative technologies, popularization of energy-saving technologies, and preparation of energy-saving standards, so as to lead the urban rail industry to move towards the road of energy-saving, low-carbon and high-quality development.
