Extension of Rail Transit Line 4 in South of Changchun Open to Traffic

 

On the morning of June 6, the extension of the rail transit line 4 in the south of Changchun, with the general contracting of surveying and design undertaken by UCD, was open to traffic. The extension line is the first one put into operation in the third phase of construction planning in the city of Changchun.

Opening of the extension of the rail transit line 4in the south of Changchun will tighten the connection between the central urban area and the Jingyue District to facilitate the district clustering development, effectively easing the traffic pressure on the rail transit network.

Extension of the rail transit line 4 totals 4.5 kilometers in length. It starts from the southern end of the Tiangonglu Station and ends at the Tianxinlu Station. An elevated line has been laid along the Linhe Street, with 5 stations set up in all, of which Fuzhidalu Station is a transfer station to Line 6 under construction. The average distance between the stations is 864 meters, with the stations being all elevated side-type ones.

The rail transit line 4 of Changchun starts from the Changchun North Railway Station in the north and ends at the Tianxinlu Station. Opening of the extension line in the south has increased the mileage of the rail transit line 4 from the previous 16.3 kilometers to 20.8 kilometers. To date, the total length of rail transit lines in Changchun has increased to 111.2 kilometers.
