Beijing Institute of Residential Building Design & Research Co., Ltd. Holds Forum on “Green Low-carbon City and Digital Transformation”

On May 15, the “2023(the Nineteenth) International Conference on Green and Energy-efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo” kicked off in Shenyang. More than 20 academicians (great masters), leaders of competent authorities of pilot cities for intelligent construction from 24 countries, 500 well-known scholars and experts from home and abroad, and thousands of representatives from the participating enterprises gathered together to speak about the bright future of the green building industry. UCD-affiliated Beijing Institute of Residential Building Design & Research Co., Ltd. (BRDR) held the sub-forum on “Green Low-carbon City and Digital Transformation”. Qian Jiahong, UCD’s chief architect and BRDR’s general manager presided over the forum.

The forum on “Green Low-carbon City and Digital Transformation”aims to carry out the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, practice the green and low-carbon strategy of“carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, exchange and share new experiences and technologies from domestic and overseas green building and building energy conservation so as to boost the optimization and development of green buildings. More than one hundred honored guests, including persons in charge of top green building research institutions, leading experts and scholars, and enterprise representatives, attended the forum, shared and discussed the cutting-edge technologies in regard to the current green building development trend, and offered advice and suggestions for the development of green buildings.

Lin Borong, vice dean and tenured professor of School of Architecture, Tsinghua University and director of the key laboratory of the Ecological Planning and Green Building Education Department, Gong Wei, Green Building Development Department of the Science and Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Guo Zhenwei, vice director of the Green Building Research Center of Chinese Society for Urban Studies, made keynote speeches. Renowned experts and scholars made keynote speeches on such green and low-carbon hot topics as intelligent building design methods for the new era, establishment and application of low-carbon development index numbers based on the evaluation criteria for green ecological urban areas, R&D and application of low-carbon building management platforms against the backdrop of “Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality” goals, presenting an excellent academic scene.

BRDR gave an introduction at the forum to its explorations and achievements made in green building. BRDR has given full play to its rich experiences in low-carbon intelligent green building top-level design, independently innovated in its R&D achievements through the use of the carbon emission quantitative calculation method, the low-carbon energy management platform and the building commissioning technology, established the‘1+3’low-carbon platform hardware and software system and formed the systematic low-carbon solution for the building operation and maintenance phase.

In the future, BRDR will continue to stick to its mission and responsibility as a SOE and, by taking the construction of high-quality living environments as its mission, BRDR will devote its efforts to building itself into a whole industry chain green building service provider famed across the country to make contribution to the optimization and transformation of the industry and to the green, low-carbon and sustainable development of cities.
