UCD Wins Ten National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards

 

Recently, 2021 National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Awards for engineering survey, architectural design industry and municipal public projects have been sponsored and released by China Engineering & Consulting Association. UCD wins ten awards in six categories, i.e. engineering survey, municipal public project design, intelligent building design, civil air defense engineering design, garden landscape & ecological environment design and construction engineering standard design.

 

Beijing Rail Transit New Airport Line Phase-I Engineering

The project is a special rail transit line built to support the construction of the new airport, providing fast, non-stop and high-quality rail transit service for air passengers in the central city. Phase-I engineering starts from the North Terminal of Daxing Airport in the south and ends at Caoqiao in the north. The line has a total length of 41.36 km (underground line and U-shaped groove, 23.65 km; overhead and roadbed sections, 17.71 km). There are three stations, i.e. Daxing Airport Station, Daxing New Town Station and Caoqiao Station. New Airport Line serves as a special aviation line. In pursuit of the standards of airline service, the line provides high-quality services for passengers.

 

 

 

Engineering Survey of Super-Large Airport Terminal Project

Beijing Daxing International Airport boasts a key national engineering in the 12th Five-Year Plan and the largest air-ground integrated transport hub in the world. Engineering survey is an important technology that ensures the completion of the engineering with high quality. The terminal covers an area of 780,000 m2, equivalent to 25 football fields. There are five floors on the ground and underground, where passengers can transfer to the high-speed railway, metro and urban rail transit. Eight huge C-shaped pillars support the Zaha-curve roof of the entire terminal, which sets ten records in the world, such as the terminal with the most advanced construction technology, the largest steel sculptured-surface roof, and the largest steel-structure building.

 

 

Geotechnical Survey and Spring Protection Project of Jinan Rail Transit Line R1

The project is located in the new urban area in the west of Jinan. As a trunk line that runs from the north to the south in the new urban area in Jinan rail transit network, the line has a total length of c. 26.4 km, with 11 stations. It is the first rail transit line constructed in Jinan and the first metro line operated in Jinan. It ushers in a new era of the metro in Jinan, accumulates experience for the metro construction in environmentally sensitive and core areas of the spring, and sets an example for follow-up projects. 

 

Changzhou Rail Transit Line 1 Phase-I Engineering

The engineering lies in the north-south development axis of Changzhou and serves as the main passenger transport channel in the north and south. On the basis of overall planning and master planning (e.g. rail transit network) in Changzhou, the line & station planning that tallies with the development direction and spatial structure of Changzhou is chosen, which effectively supports the development of various clusters along the north-south line of Changzhou, promotes the renovation of old urban areas along the line, the improvement of environment and the development & utilization of land, and accumulates rich experience for the construction of follow-up projects in Changzhou.

 

Jinan Rail Transit Line 1 (Original Line R1) Engineering

The project is the first metro line in Jinan. In the construction of the metro, UCD must address worldwide technological conundrums in Jinan and break the bottlenecks that restrict the long-term urban development. In the whole process of planning, design and construction, UCD researches key technologies for the construction of the metro in Jinan, formulates the construction standards, and forges the construction idea of “safe, green, smart and high-quality metro” in harmony with regional characteristics of Jinan. UCD creates an urban landscape line that accords with Qilu culture and signals a new era for the metro in Jinan.

 

Qingdao-Haiyang Intercity (Blue Silicon Valley Section) Rail Transit Engineering

The project has a total length of 58.35 km, with 22 stations. It is an express line that stands in the east of urban area on the east bank and connects peripheral development areas, facilitating the connection of key functional areas, development areas and clusters along the line. The engineering forms a transfer with five lines in the planned line network, which plays an important role in effectively utilizing network resources, realizing network-resource sharing, accelerating passenger transport of rail transit network, leading urban development and driving the development of industrial economy along the line.

 

Shenyang Underground Utility Tunnel (South Waterway Section) Engineering

Shenyang is listed in the first-group ten pilot cities of underground utility tunnel in China. Shenyang Underground Utility Tunnel (South Waterway Section) Engineering is the first underground utility tunnel constructed by shield tunneling through the old urban area in China. “Smart tunnel” highlights comprehensive monitoring and establishes operation, maintenance & management system of utility tunnel, which improves management efficiency, achieves huge economic benefits of utility tunnel, and reduces the expense on maintenance personnel. The system saves 10% energy every year, and the application of new achievements provides valuable experience for the construction of underground utility tunnel in the old urban areas in China.

 

Guogongzhuang Depot Integrated Development

Category | Civil Air Defense Engineering Design

 

The project is located at Huaxiang Town, Fengtai District, Beijing. Its construction land is divided into four districts. District 1 is the upper-cover area and the landing area of the utilization depot, with ten high-rise slab-type commercial & residential buildings and three office & business buildings. Districts 2, 3 and 4 are the landing areas of the depot, with 14 high-rise slab-type public-rental residential buildings and ten residential public-service facilities. The project effectively solves the problems of upper & lower cover traffic, fire protection, civil air defense and greening and sets a model in the integrated development of residential projects in metro depot.

 

Beijing Outdoor Exhibition Garden of 2019 World Horticultural Exposition

Category | Garden Landscape & Ecological Environment Design

 

The project is located in Chinese Horticultural Exhibition Area. Beijing Garden takes the understanding and expression of gardening life as the core, and uses a variety of modern gardening techniques and new varieties of gardening. It adopts spatial elements of regional characteristics of Beijing as an overall structure, learns from traditional gardening techniques, integrates landscape, flower, tree, architecture, couplet and other garden elements, and creates a gardening world for citizens. Surrounded by gardens, the quadrangle courtyard absorbs elements of the landscape pattern in Beijing, and forms “Eight Scenes of Beijing Garden” by building mountain, arranging water, planting tree and landscaping.
