BRDR Takes the Lead in Residential Construction for Five Years in Xiong’an

On April 1, 2017, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council decided to establish a state-level new district—Xiong’an New Area in Hebei Province. Five years later, earth-shaking changes have taken place in Xiong’an, and the previously-made blueprint is gradually turning into a reality.

As a well-known residential design enterprise in the country, Beijing Institute of Residential Building Design &Research Co., Ltd. (BRDR) closely follows the construction requirements of "world vision, international standards, Chinese characteristics, and high-point positioning"put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping, gives full play to its technical advantages in high-quality residential buildings and its ability to manage and control the general design contracting, puts into practice the concept of "full life cycle large residential area", and constantlymakes explorations and innovations in the new area, becoming a forerunner in the construction of the new area.

Advancing in the Forefront with Positive Practice

Everything is difficult before it is easy.Construction of the demonstration area of Xiong’an New Area is the outset of all designs. BRDR is fortunate to be a practitioner of exploration.

The project of Xiong’an High Quality Construction Experimental Zone (Living) is the first project for residential construction on a large scale in Xiong’an New Area, and the design mode and construction mode will provide rich experience for the later mass construction of Xiong’an. By taking"spatial integration and penetration", "harmonious life and work", "flourishing industrial development" and "green, environmental protection and low carbon" as its original design intentions and being in line with the characteristics of the new area, the project team gradually explored experience in large-scale residential construction and fulfilled the project design and construction tasks with the coordination of various departments and in an efficient and rapid way, successfully obtaining the first-ever planning permitnumbered "001" for the construction of Xiong’an New Area.

The Urban and Rural Management Service Center ----- Future City Experience Center is a complete practice of BRDR’s EPC model in Xiong’an New Area integrating hi-techs in terms of fabrication, green architecture, ultra-low energy consumption and smart home and taking the lead in the development and progress of high quality buildings. The center is also the first project combining design and construction into one for BRDR to take part in the construction of the new area. The project meets the design requirements of "Three Stars for Green Buildings", and has won the title of "Passive Ultra-LowEnergy Consumption Building Demonstration Project" issued by China Passive Building Alliance, the second prize of the National State-owned Enterprise Management Innovation Achievement Award, the authentication of "Ultra-low Energy Consumption Technology Project of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development" as well as certificate of "dena Energy Consumption Class A" .

Building a Residential Sample for Xiong’an New Area

The establishment of Xiong’an New Area aims to create a Chinese sample of world-class urban agglomerations, and the homes of common people are an important integral part of the new area. BRDR is fortunate to have become a forerunner in exploring new living concepts, constructing a new living environment, and creating full-life cycle residences.

The G group resettlement housing and supporting facilities are the first resettlement housing project in Rongdong area of Xiong’an New Area. BRDR’s project team perfectly combined the building with the environment in the design through the spatial structure of "two axes, four belts and multiple centers" and the product layout of enclosed courtyards and in a people-centered way to create a green, healthy and livable community living atmosphere with sustainable development. At the same time, the project team formulated a set of complete and feasible design standards in the design, standardized the process of "approval and construction", and designed six standard types of resettlement houses in the new area in the light of the concept of "making high-quality housing", laying a solid foundation for the follow-up construction of the new area. 

Section 1 of Phase I of the resettlement housing project is located in the northwest corner of Rongxi area. The buildings are strewn at random in height and form an enclosure to present a comfortable, livable and convenient residential paradigm with design symbols with Chinese characteristics and featuring the concept of green and livable community and ecological smart city. BRDR’s design team has provided high-level technical services ranging from overall planning to professional design to guarantee the construction period and quality of drawings, ensuring that "a blueprint is carried out through to the end".

Exploring New Models for the Construction and Development of the New Area

As the key area being the first to be constructed in the Xiong’an New Area, the start-up area undertakes the important tasks of exploring development and construction models, piloting policies and measures, and assuming the prototype of the new area. The XAQD-0024 and No. 0025 plots in the start-up area are of great significance as the new area's key project to relieve personnel from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The project aims to create an integrated ecosystem of residence and commerce, which can satisfy the balance of work and housing while creating an ecological, green and healthy quality of life.

The commercial planning service of the No. 2 Plot Project in Rongdong Area aims to build a comprehensive functional area that is livable, suitable for business, coordinated and integrated, and green and intelligent, with the focus placed on living and dwelling functions. The project complies with the positioning of the Rongcheng group in the overall planning of the new area to lead the development and function improvement of the Rongcheng group, to provide support and supporting services for the construction of the starting area and the start-up area, and to accumulate experience for exploring models for the development and construction of the new area.
