Back Section of Hangzhou Metro Line 3 Opens to Traffic

On June 10, the back section of Hangzhou Metro Line 3 with UCD undertaking the general contracting of all design tasks was open to traffic, making up for the lack of subway network in west of Hangzhou, which will effectively ease the pressure of travel on people in the main urban area and facilitate the economic and social development of Hangzhou.

Phase I of Hangzhou Metro Line 3 is composed of the main line and branch line, with a total length of approx. 52 kilometers. The first section with a total length of 21.3 kilometers, among others, was open to traffic on Feb. 21, 2022. The back section completed now has a total length of 31 kilometers.

It is reported that the total mileage of Hangzhou metro lines has so far reached 450 kilometers, of which the total length of subway lines with UCD undertaking the general contracting of all design tasks accounts for one third of the total mileage in operation.
