“Energy Conservation Project of Intelligent Energy System” for Rail Transit of Ningbo Rated as Demonstration Project by CAMET

 

In order to thoroughly carry out the important strategic decision of "achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals" made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and implement the construction objectives and key tasks put forward in the Development Outline of Smart Urban Rail Transit in China, UCD has actively promoted the low-carbon and energy-saving technological innovation and, depending on the rail transit construction project in Ningbo, has built the "energy-saving engineering of intelligent energy system based on cloud platform". Recently, the project has been rated as a demonstration project by China Association of Metros(CAMET).

As the major participant in the making of the demonstration project, UCD has provided services in the whole process from project opening declaration to research, and has guided the market development through innovation. In the demonstration project, UCD has undertaken such research subjects as Energy Management System Based on Cloud Platform and Big Data, High-efficiency and Energy-saving Ventilation and Air Conditioning System, and Intelligent Lighting System with DC Centralized Power Supply.



The appraised demonstration project is the fifth demonstration project after China Association of Metros issued the Development Outline of Smart Urban Rail Transit in China and the Management Measures of China Association of Metros for Demonstration Projects, and will become another landmark achievement of rail transit of Ningbo in practicing the green and low-carbon development concept.

UCD has surmounted industry problems and innovated on energy-saving technologies. Based on Phase II of Rail Transit Line 3 of Ningbo and Phase I of Line 4 and Line 5, energy-saving technologies have been innovated and, in line with digital and intelligent management means, the urban rail transit energy system aimed at "energy conservation, emission reduction, green and low carbon, smartness and efficiency" has been constructed. This demonstration technology will be popularized and applied across the board in the construction of Phase III of Line 6, Line 7 and Line 8, and the comprehensive operational energy consumption is estimated to decrease by 25%.

Comprehensive energy conservation improvement on the energy supply side and energy consumption side of urban rail transit has been tapped deeply in the demonstration project, and an energy management system has been simultaneously constructed based on cloud platform and big data. Meanwhile, UCD has actively probed into the comprehensive energy-saving solution of "integration of supply, use and management". UCD has improved the level of energy conservation and consumption reduction from such systems as traction power supply, station ventilation and air conditioning, low-voltage lighting, etc.; optimized the energy structure through the application of green new energy such as ground source heat pump and photovoltaic power generation; and further realized intelligent energy-saving management and deployment by means of digital management, which is of great significance to achieving the strategic "carbon peaking and neutrality goals" and boosting the smart urban rail development.

The energy-saving project is the first in the urban rail industry in China to propose the building of a comprehensive energy-saving technology system for the intelligent energy system, which will not only form a set of standards applicable to the intelligent energy system to provide demonstration and basis for the construction and operation of intelligent energy systems in urban rail transit, but will also present a "Ningbo Solution" for the rail transit industry to realize a higher level of energy conservation and emission reduction and step on the path of green, low-carbon and sustainable development, and will inject new vitality for speeding up the intelligent urban rail construction.
