BRDR Incorporates into UCD

On Mar. 24th, a conference was held at North Street Head Office to announce the merger of BRDR into UCD. BUCG’s deputy Party secretary and general manager Pei Hongwei, deputy general manager Wang Zhiwen, assistant general manager Wu Donghui, head of enterprise management department Xie Ping, head of capital operation department Shi Huaxin, head of organization department of the Party committee Wang Zhiyong, UCD’s general manager Wang Hanjun, Party secretary Li Guoqing, BUCC’s general manager Xie Fuhai, as well as middle-level personnel and above of UCD and BRDR attended the conference, which was presided over by Li Guoqing, Party secretary of UCD.

At the conference, BUCG’s deputy general manager Wang Zhiwen read out the relevant circular on BRDR’s incorporation into UCD, while BRDR’s president Qian Jiahong briefly introduced BRDR. BRDR’s general Party branch secretary and chairperson Li Qun and UCD’s general manager Wang Hanjun took the floor respectively.

Beijing Institute of Residential Building Design & Research Co., Ltd. (BRDR for short) was established in 1983. Through development over nearly 40 years, it has accumulated strong technical strength and rich customer resources in the field of residential architecture design, and can provide design consulting services in the whole process from industrial planning, urban and rural planning, architectural design, landscape design, interior design, project management to intelligent operation and maintenance management. It possesses qualifications comprising Grade A in architectural design, Grade A in landscape architecture design, Grade B in urban and rural planning, and Grade B in municipal planning, and has formed its three core technological advantages featured on prefabricated construction and interior decoration industrialization, green architecture and ultra-low energy consumption building, BIM and smart cities. Its business covers more than ten provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China, as well as countries and regions such as Belarus, Congo, Guinea, Togo, etc.

In his speech, UCD’s general manager Wang Hanjun said that UCD will unswervingly carry out the decisions and arrangements made by BUCG. He expressed gratitude to BUCG for its care and support and welcomed BRDR’s joining. He said that the business integration has provided new opportunities for UCD to accelerate its transformation and upgrading and to achieve its further development, and that UCD will take it as a new starting point to strive to create new prospects for its development. In the next step, he added, UCD will do a good job in all work after BRDR’s incorporation in a down-to-earth manner, give full play to UCD’s comprehensive advantages in market, scientific research, technology, industrialization, talents, etc., provide full support for BRDR’s development in more fields and at a higher level, and boost BRDR’s business to develop in and beyond Beijing and to open up markets across the country. He said that all sectors and functional departments of UCD should act on their respective initiative, provide services on the production line, meet all management needs of BRDR across the board, make in-depth investigation and research, speed up and deepen the integration, do a good job in all-round integration of system, process and culture, improve management efficiency, fulfill all work targets set by BUCG, and promote UCD to scale new heights and to make due contributions to the high-quality development of UCD!

Since 2019, BUCG has resolutely implemented the decisions and arrangements made by Beijing municipal Party committee and municipal government, completed the merger and reorganization in a smooth and orderly manner, realized management integration quickly and efficiently, deepened the reform constantly with the focus placed on the main business, and realized the business development in an all-round way. Through merger and reorganization, the enterprises’ ability to allocate corporate factors, to integrate resources, to plan production as a whole and to conduct market competition has all been improved substantially, with its influence in the industry having been further escalated.

BRDR’s incorporation in UCD has not only broken the bottlenecks hampering its development for a long time, such as low registered capital, weak risk control ability, limited resource elements, poor ability to cope with market situation and participate in high-end projects, but has also made up for UCD’s shortcomings in the subdivided fields of new green architecture and prefabricated construction, providing important support for UCD to open up new business markets and meet new business models and further enhancing its core competitiveness and influence in the industry.

In the wake of Beijing Capital Jiaye Property Services Co., Ltd. successfully listed, BUCG has centered on further carrying out the decisions and arrangements made by Beijing municipal Party committee and municipal government to deepen enterprise reform and accelerate the realization of the change from physical combination to chemical reaction, and has made another important move to further release the reform power and dividends. BRDR’s incorporation in UCD will play an important role in bringing to effect BUCG’s “14th Five-Year Development Plan”, strengthening and improving and enlarging its design consulting business, and enhancing UCD’s overall competitiveness.

Pei Hongwei pointed out that the year 2022 is the critical year for the implementation of the “14th Five-Year Plan”, and is the third year after the merger and reorganization of BUCG and BUCC. To continuously and deeply do a good job of development, reform and stability interacting on each other requires the effort in keeping to development as the first priority to constantly deepen the reform, to create and maintain a favorable environment for development and reform, to realize the in-depth integration of internal resources and to promote the sustained and healthy development of enterprises through centralization of resource elements to superior enterprises and the change of business management to intensiveness and efficiency.

Pei Hongwei stressed that new opportunities brought about by BRDR’s incorporation in UCD should be grasped firmly, and that progress should be made on UCD’s own initiative by riding on the momentum. He said that UCD should plan on its own initiative and do research in depth around “industry chain, management chain and value chain”, and take measures and facilitate the measures with great effort so as to realize the high-quality development of enterprises.

Efforts should be made to improve the industry chain, professional and business integration of key areas should be expedited, breakthroughs in key areas should be made with great effort, cultivation of new points of business growth should be accelerated and, in the meantime, emphasis should be laid on digital transformation and digital empowerment of traditional architectural design to constantly extend and improve the industry chain. Efforts should be made to strengthen the management chain, benchmarking should be made to model UCD on listed companies and advanced enterprises in the industry. In line with the integration of resource factors in the regional markets and optimization, readjustment and reorganization of internal institutes, efforts should be made to accelerate the innovation of BUCG’s management model and remaking of its production organization. Quality and efficiency improvement should be conducted in a persistent way and the management chain should be strengthened constantly to improve management efficiency and benefit to strive to be first-class enterprises. Efforts should be made to optimize the value chain to constantly improve profit-making abilities and levels. Enterprise reform should be facilitated to give an impetus to production transformation, and enterprise management should be strengthened to accelerate the improvement of value creation abilities on all links of the whole chain on the basis of perfecting the industry chain and strengthening the management chain. Efforts should be made to become eco-leading enterprises and leading enterprises should be aimed at in rail transit industry and in the survey and design market. Input should be increased in scientific and technological innovation, the incubation, transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements should be sped up, cultivation of new competitive advantages should be expedited so as to make new and still greater contribution to strengthening, optimizing and enlarging urban construction design and realizing the development goal of building UCD into an internationally renowned integrated urban construction service provider.
