Warm Congratulations！UCD’s Two Experts Selected as National Engineering Survey and Design Masters

A few days ago, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the "Proclamation on the Release of the Tenth Name List of National Engineering Survey and Design Maters", a No.225 document in 2021. Yu Songwei and Ma Haizhi, UCD’s deputy general managers, were both selected and won the title of national engineering survey and design master.

The title of national engineering survey and design master is a honorary title on the national level for China’s engineering survey and design industry. Appraisal and selection will be conducted every two years by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China in accordance with the "Measures for the Appraisal, Selection and Management of National Engineering Survey and Design Masters". The selection through appraisal of the masters is conducted with a view to stimulating the sense of responsibility and honor among broad masses of engineering survey and design personnel, guiding and motivating them to actively practice the requirements of building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society in engineering survey and design work, and providing excellent survey and design achievements with good economic, social and environmental benefits for the society based on independent innovation.

Yu Songwei, a professor-level senior engineer, is currently acting as the deputy general manager of UCD. After graduation from Southwest Jiaotong University as a railway electrification major in 1987, he was assigned to UCD. For 34 years, he has been engaged in Chinese and foreign urban rail transit engineering design research, and is an outstanding leader in the field of urban construction survey and design. With his rigorous and down-to-earth work attitude and pragmatic work style, he sets a good example for the young designers and has made outstanding contributions to the development of UCD in the field of survey and design. He has successively won such honors as "Top 100 Leaders in Science and Technology 2015 Beijing", "2005 Beijing Model Worker" and "2016 Expert Enjoying State Council’s Government Special Allowance".

Ma Haizhi, a professor-level senior engineer, director of the Technical Committee of Beijing Urban Construction Survey & Design Institute Co., Ltd., expert of National Science and Technology Award Expert Database, expert of Ministry of Construction, expert of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, vice chairman of Rail Transit Branch of China Civil Engineering Society Rail Transit Branch and head of survey specialties. He was the first to put forward the concept of intelligent survey in the industry. The "National Stadium (Bird's Nest) Plane and Elevation Control Network Survey Project" led by him won the "National Gold Award for Excellent Engineering Survey and Design" and "Second Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress". Projects such as "Research and Practice of Construction Measurement Technology for National Center for the Performing Arts" and "Engineering Construction Control Network Measurement for Beijing’s Urban Railway from Xizhimen to Dongzhimen" successively won the Bronze Award of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design. He won 3 national invention patents and 11 utility model patents. He has published academic papers in core journals for a long time, and summarized and published 10 books. He edited 3 national standards such as Technical Standards for Automatic Monitoring of Urban Rail Transit Engineering Construction, and edited or involved in the editing of 8 standards for other countries, industries, localities and organizations.
