Activities Conducted Like the Kick-off Meeting for the 2021 “Month of Safety Production” and the Labor Union Delivering Coolness Service

On June 2, UCD organized and carried out the 2021 “Safety Production Month” kick-off meeting and the activity of labor union delivering coolness service, May-June safety handover meeting and model construction site observation and exchange activity. The “Safety Production Month” kick-off meeting and the labor union’s delivering coolness service and the safety handover meeting were held at the site of 01 bid project, a Rail Transit Reserved Project in Tongzhou District. Mi Jianzhou, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Labor Union, Dong Shuen, Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee, Jin Huai, Deputy General Manager, Wang Liang, Deputy General Manager, He Junhua, Safety Director and Head of the Safety Engineering Department, and persons in charge of the Enterprise Management Department, Technical Quality Department, Administration and Security Department, and the Discipline Inspection Department attended the meeting; relevant leaders of the Investment and Construction Management Department, Survey Institute, Beijing Urban Rail Transit Construction Engineering Co., Ltd, and Beijing Urban Construction Intelligent Control Co., Ltd. , as well as managers of the projects in Beijing, deputy safety managers, deputy production managers and worker representatives attended the meeting.

Kick-off Meeting for the “Safety Production Month”

He Junhua, Safety Director and Head of the Safety Engineering Department of UCD firstly read out UCD’s 2021 “Safety Production Month” Activity Plan; Zhang Pengfei, representative of the project managers and manager of the 01 Bid Green Heart Rail Transit Reserved Project, read out the safety month proposal; worker representatives took the safety oath on site, and the leaders gave out safety month promotional materials. Then the activity of labor union delivering coolness service was conducted to give out solicitude gifts to front-line workers. Finally, leaders at the “Safety Production Month” kick-off meeting signed their names one after another on the attendance sheet, driving the atmosphere of the Safety Production Month to a climax.

Deputy General Manager Wang Liang put forward requirements according to the activity of Safety Production Month. First, all units and project teams should earnestly implement UCD’s “2021 Safety Production Month” Activity Plan" and, in line with the actual conditions, all units and project teams should sturdily conduct colorful and characteristic safety month activities. Secondly, all units must heighten their political positions and strengthen their responsibility for service guarantees for such major events as the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Thirdly, efforts should be made to do a good job of flood prevention, fire fighting, and Covid-19 prevention in a down-to-earth manner, and safety measures against extreme weather should be adopted to protect the health and safety of workers.

Mi Jianzhou, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee and Chairman of the labor union, delivered remarks in the light of the safety month kick-off meeting and the activity of the labor union’s delivering coolness service. First, unity of thinking should be conducted, situations should be well understood, and the importance of the safety production work should be fully recognized. June is the golden season for construction and production. Safety management work should be straightened out from the source, with process control to be strengthened and safety responsibilities to be consolidated to keep production safety under control and ensure the continuous and healthy development of UCD’s production safety management. Secondly, distinctive safety month activities should be carried out actively, efforts should be put forth to enhance safety awareness, safe operation skills and self-protection abilities among employees. Great efforts should be devoted to giving publicity to the “People-oriented” safety development concept in close compliance with the theme of “Carrying out safety responsibility and promote safety development”to earnestly protect the life and property security of all constructors. Thirdly, keen advice was given to the constructors to ask them to pay attention to heatstroke prevention and coolness service and epidemic prevention and control during intense work, and to take good care of their health!

May-June safety handover meeting

After the safety month kick-off meeting, the May-June safety handover meeting was held in the meeting room of Green Heart Project. He Junhua, Safety Director and Head of the Safety Engineering Department, conveyed the spirit of the safety work meetings of UCD and Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, summed up the safety production work in May, and made arrangements for safety production work priorities in June. Persons in charge of the Administration Department, Technical Quality Department, and Enterprise Management Department respectively made arrangements for relevant work tasks.

Jin Huai, safety duty leader of May and deputy general manager, affirmed the safety production work of UCD’s construction sector, and proposed to probe deeply into safety management and improve safety standardization in line with the current social safety environment.

Wang Liang, safety duty leader of June and deputy general manager, stressed that all units and project teams should strengthen the corporate entity responsibility, improve the risk management and control mechanism, and tamp the safety foundation for innovation and development in line with the actual conditions so as to provide a safety shield for UCD’s development.

Observation and exchange activities at the model construction site

In the afternoon, UCD’s safety engineering department organized and carried out the "Safety Production Month" model site observation and exchange activities. The observation site was selected to be Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Tongzhou Capital Medical University constructed by the construction department recommended by UCD. More than 40 people from the Investment and Construction Management Department, Survey Institute, Railroad Company, Intelligent Control Company and so on participated in the observation and exchange activities.

The construction site for observation was laid out reasonably and orderly. The safety experience training center, the miniature fire station, the domestic waste intelligent sorting center, the new energy sprinkler, etc. feasted the eyes of the observers, highlighting the high standards of green construction on the site. The barber room for workers, the cheap supermarket for workers, and the shared washing machines also reflected the project team's meticulous care for workers’ lives.

Through organizing various units and project personnel to observe and study on the model construction sites, all that participated in the observation benefited a lot, which has fully enhanced the safety management and green construction awareness among all employees and absorbed and promoted excellent experience and practices to facilitate the improvement of standardization, human culture and intelligence of UCD’s engineering projects.
