The Meeting on Party History Learning & Education and Central Group Learning (Expansion) Held by UCD

On the afternoon of May 25, UCD held the meeting on party history learning & education and central group learning (expansion) to call for deep and solid steps to further promote the party history learning & education according to the requirements of learning party history, understanding important theories, doing more practical things and making new advances.

Attendees include members of the company's leadership team, secretary of the board of directors, deputy general counsel, deputy chief economist, deputy chief accountant, heads of departments, secretaries of directly-affiliated Party organizations, leaders of commissions for discipline inspection, trade unions and leaders of party affairs.

Jing Jie, associate professor and director of the management teaching & research office of the party school of Xicheng District committee, was invited to make a special guiding report titled "Striving Forward Independently -- the Success of China's Catch-Up Industrialization." Based on the historical evolution of industrialization in modern China, the report is divided into four parts: “Opening up to Industrialization in Humiliation,” “Difficult Exploration of Early Industrialization,” “Republican China: The ‘Golden Decade’ in the Turbulent Times,” and “New China: A New Road to Socialist Industrialization.” Through a large number of examples of party history, the report gives a vivid, detailed description of the exploration course of industrialization in modern China, especially the success of the Chinese people in overthrowing the “Three Heavy Mountains -- The Landlord, The Feudal Lord and The Capitalist” under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The Party creatively adapted Marxism to the Chinese context, blazed a trail for a great modern socialist country, and contributed Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the problems of mankind.

Mi Jianzhou, the deputy secretary of UCD’s party committee and the chairman of the trade union, pointed out when presiding over the meeting that the guiding report aims high and has profound thinking, a distinct theme and rich content; it is a thought-provoking lesson in ideology, politics, party spirit and party history, both historically and practically, and may serve as a guide to learning the century-old history of the Party, carrying forward the red gene of patriotism and performing the mission of our original aspiration.

Each department should take this opportunity to further enhance the study and education of the party history and set a new trend in party history study. Leadership team members and cadres should take the lead in being a fast and active learner and give full play to their guiding and exemplary role. Such guidance and encouragement will ensure high-standard and high-quality party history learning & education. The Party’s struggle and great achievements will boost our morale and show us the direction; the Party’s practice and creation, as well as experience in creating history, will sharpen our wisdom and improve our personality; the Party's glorious tradition and fine working style will consolidate our faith and unite our strength. UCD strives to embrace a good start during the 14th Five-Year Plan period with a more energetic spirit and diligent attitude and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements.

At the meeting, Dong Shuen, secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of UDC, read out the Work Plan for Specific Rectification on Illegal Distribution of Subsidies or Benefits, Illegal Receiving and Presenting Local Specialty and Gifts, Illegal Banquet and Illegal Use of Official Vehicles, and made arrangements for this specific rectification.
