UCD Wins the Title of “National Worker Pioneer”

In order to do a good job of project construction, the project team responded to the call of the Dianzhong New Area, organized and mobilized the majority of employees to play the role of the main force, and to perform meritorious deeds in serving the local economic construction. With the emulation campaign as the starting point, the project team used the campaign to improve safety conditions, to promote production, to facilitate innovation and to boost solutions to difficulties. By carrying forward the iron army spirit of daring to fight hard and win, the vast numbers of employees worked together to overcome such difficulties as complex geological conditions, large workload, tight schedule, etc., and worked hard for 400 days and completed various construction tasks at the end of December 2017, achieving the goal of opening the avenue to traffic ahead of time. The completion of the project marks the initial formation of the skeleton road network in the new area into a road traffic system, which has opened the prelude to the urban development of the new area, and has played a positive role in driving and upgrading the economic and industrial development in the neighboring areas, and has become a road to economic development, a road to urban development and improvement of living standards, and a road that connects the future.

The project team adhered to the “high standards-and-model-oriented” principle, carried out the requirements of high starting point and high standard construction throughout the whole process of the project and controlled the quality of the project strictly. The project team took the lead in implementing the “first piece system” in road construction in Yunnan Province, and a standard model was set up in every link of the process so as to allow operators to work accurately according to the standard model. The project team carried out the four management methods of "specialization, elaboration, standardization, and standardization", continually conducted the Quality Month activities, strengthened process management and control to ensure high-standard and high-quality construction. At the same time, the project team vigorously carried out innovation and excellence creation activities to create high-quality and excellent products and used innovation to build brands. For example, in the construction of the underground utility tunnel, the project team integrated the concept of sponge city to ensure that the project construction is both “appearance-oriented” and “quality-oriented”. At present, the project has won more than ten innovation achievement awards on both provincial and ministerial levels, such as “National Construction Safety Standard Site for Construction Projects” and “Great Wall Cup Gold Award for Municipal Infrastructure of Beijing”.

Customer-oriented high-quality performance has won unanimous praises from all parties. In the past three years of project operation and maintenance, the front-line management personnel have adhered to their original aspirations and have consistently provided high-quality services in a customer-oriented way, winning wide acclaim from the government and society, and have been awarded titles like “Worker Pioneer of Kunming”, “May Day Labor Certificate of Merit of Yunnan Province”, etc., and have established a good corporate image.
