Trail Operation of UCD’ s First Medium-and-Light-Volume Transport Project 

On the morning of March 30th, with the strong support of the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, the first phase of the Zhuzhou Intelligent Rail Transit System (Hunan University of Technology Station to Zhuzhou Station) launched a passenger trial operation to formally serve the citizens of Zhuzhou, marking the new type of intelligent transportation system being completed and put into use and UCD' s strategic layout in the medium and light transportation volume markets scoring new achievements.

At 6:30 in the morning, a 31.6-meter-long new smart tram with a stylish appearance and a sense of technology slowly departed from Hunan University of Technology Station and headed for Zhuzhou Station. The smart rail tram showed her astonishingly beautiful face and added a beautiful appearance to Zhuzhou. As the tram passed through various stations along the route, the citizens cheered and praised the enthusiastic tour guide service and comfortable riding experience. It is reported that during the trial operation period, citizens can ride for free. At the same time, in order to ensure the safety and order of the trial operation, UCD’ s Zhuzhou project team planned in advance to strengthen the organization by arranging more than 40 people at various stations along the route to ensure the trail operation, and provided meticulous and thoughtful traffic guidance and consultation service.

The first phase of the Zhuzhou Intelligent Rail Transit System is 11.5 kilometers in length. It starts at Hunan University of Technology Station and ends at Xiangyang Square Station, with 15 stations established in all. There are various important nodes along the route in Hexi and Hedong, two central areas in Zhuzhou, to serve the cultural center, administrative center and the commercial center, making the route a backbone of the urban public transportation that can realize the integration of east and west and the external connection and development for Zhuzhou.

The intelligent rail transit system is a new medium-to-low-volume rail transit system with functions combining autonomous guidance, trajectory following, full electric drive, and intelligent driving into one. In the implementation of the project, UCD conducted innovation boldly by giving due consideration to the characteristics of the city of Zhuzhou and was the first in China to have created the shared "Smart Rail + Public Transport" corridor solution and developed smart rail and public transport integrated dispatch system on its own, thus having realized integrated operation and smart dispatch. The completion of the project does not only provide the general public with faster, more comfortable and convenient public transportation services, but will also become a paradigm for the development and growth of the smart rail industry in Zhuzhou.
