The award was originally designed to show single and multidisciplinary projects based on landscape, and build resilience in urban and natural systems. The theme of the 2020 award is “GLOBAL CALL FOR RESILIENCE”, which calls for responsible practices adaptable to climate change and actual examples of joint efforts to solve resilience building issues, with explanation based on practical researches.
Due to the impact of the NCP epidemic, this award ceremony was held online. Fumiaki Takano, Chairman of IFLA Asia-Pacific, delivered a speech, expressing thanks for the contributions of the outstanding participants to the industry. The 2020 AAPME Awards have nine categories including analysis and overall planning, culture and tradition, economic feasibility, and storm water management, each with outstanding awards, award of excellence, and honorable mention respectively. This year, outstanding projects from China won many awards, demonstrating the beauty of craftsmanship and the progress in the industry to the world.
