The trial service of Autonomous Rail Rapid Transit (ART) tram of Zhuzhou ART project was successfully completed

On December 26, the first trial service in the corridor line of the ART tram of the Phase-I Project of Zhuzhou ART invested and constructed by UCD was successfully completed, indicating that this stage work of the project was completed and it’s striding towards the target of the next stage. The leaders of Zhuzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau, Municipal Traffic Police Detachment, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute and Zhuzhou Public Transportation Co., Ltd. and local major media agencies all witnessed this moment.

At 9 o'clock in the morning, an ART tram was put in an unloaded trial service along the completed Hexi section of ART corridor line. It returned 40 minutes later, indicating the success of the trial service. The length of this trial service is about 7.7 kilometers, mainly to test the performance of the semi-flexible rails in the corridor line of the Phase-I Project of Zhuzhou ART, and the matching conditions of the trams with stations and civil engineering projects.

The Phase-I Project of Zhuzhou ART is located in the most important passenger flow corridor of Zhuzhou, which is an arterial line of urban public transportation to promote the integration of the east and west areas of the city and the development and connection with the outside world. The project includes three sections with a total length of approximately 14.6 kilometers. The first section of the experience line has been opened to traffic. UCD is responsible for the newly built second section (Hunan University of Technology Station - Zhuzhou Railway Station) and the third section (Xinhua Bridge - Xiangyang Square Station) with a total length of 11.5 kilometers, and 15 stations with an average distance of 680 meters between each of them.

This project is one of Zhuzhou key projects in 2020 and also an important breakthrough for UCD’s deployment in the light-weight transportation market. Since the project was started, all relevant departments of Zhuzhou Municipal Government provided great supports. UCD strengthened its organization and leadership, and allocated advantageous resources, and the project team actively promoted it. At present, the construction of platform civil engineering and steel structure at the section of Hunan University of Technology Station - Zhuzhou Railway Station was completed, and the widening on both sides was 100% completed. The steel frame of Hunan University of Technology Station was 100% completed, and the decoration was 60% completed. The steel frame processing and installation are in process at the other stations, and the construction of ART corridor was 100% completed.

According to the overall plan, the next step of the project is a critical stage. It will strengthen dispatching management and catch the construction period, complete construction and operation preparations as soon as possible, and strive to build a clear and open road to contribute to the urban construction and development of Zhuzhou.
