UCD Won the First Prize of BIM Application in Railway and Rail Transit in the 11th “Innovation Cup” Building Information Model (BIM) Application Competition 

On November 3, the award ceremony for the 11th “Innovation Cup” Building Information Model (BIM) Application Competition was held in Beijing jointly by China Engineering and Consulting Association and Autodesk Software (China) Co., Ltd. The Comprehensive Application and Value Embodiment of BIM for Jinan's Rail Transit Line R3 filed by UCD has won the first prize of BIM application in railway and rail transit by defeating the other 1,652 projects, upon preliminary evaluation, online evaluation and final evaluation. 

Phase I of Jinan’s rail transit line R3, covering a length of 21.57km with 13 stations, will be constructed in the form of one yard for one section. The whole route is underground. Since winning the bid for BIM application technology service in 2018, Jinan Branch and the Digital Information Technology Center of Technology Institute has cooperated with each other to actively carry out BIM technology application and innovation and constantly strengthen the integrated application of BIM technology design and construction, thereby fundamentally solving the disconnection problem between design and construction information, and effectively applying BIM results to the actual construction process. As such, the potential risk of the project has been effectively reduced, considerable social and economic benefits have been achieved, and the construction period has been shortened by more than 4 months, which obtained unanimously recognition and positive evaluation from the participating units!
