A Grand Ceremony Was Held for Relocation of the Office Area of UCD’s Design Headquarters

At 10:58 a.m. on November 8, a grand ceremony was held for the relocation of the office area of UCD’s design headquarters. Pei Hongwei, general manager of the Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited and chairman of UCD, Li Weihong, deputy secretary of the Party committee of Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited, Xu Rongming, chairman of the trade union of Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited, as well as nearly 100 representatives of the heads, departments, units and reconstruction project teams in UCD jointly witnessed this important moment. 

The headquarters of UCD is located in the office area at No.5, North Avenue. In order to better adapt to the needs of leaping development in the new era, the board of directors reviewed and approved the reconstruction scheme of the headquarters office area in 2016. In May 2017, the project was approved by the Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning. In September 2017, the project was officially launched. After more than 1,000 days and nights, the headquarters office area was finally completed in 2020, making No. 5 of North Street reborn like a butterfly breaking through its cocoon. 

Mi Jianzhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee of and chairman of the trade union of UCD, presided over the ceremony. First, the present leaders and guests watched together the special film on the construction of the headquarters office area, and recalled the unforgettable construction process through such audio-visual language. 

Wang Hanjun, general manager of UCD, indicated in his speech that the office area at No.5 of North Avenue had witnessed the company's over 60 years of struggling history on manoeuvring among competitors and storming forward bravely, which is the strategic fulcrum for the company to inherit history and become bigger and stronger. With a brief review of the construction process, the office area has finally ushered in a Nirvana-like upgrade. In terms of architectural design, the red brick of the old building was chosen for the project as the design scheme to express cultural context, and an open screen wall made of dry hanging clay bricks was creatively developed and used, integrating the vicissitudes of old building with the beauty of new building's technology. In terms of engineering construction, the new EPC mode of construction was designed, reflecting the company's resource advantages and technical strength through integration of the whole industrial chain; In terms of building functions, the utilization of office space is significantly improved, the new concept of comfortable and healthy office is highlighted, and the cloud desktop solution independently developed is adopted for the first time, showing the new direction of future cloud office. 

Wang Hanjun said that based on the completion and opening of the headquarters office building at No. 5 of North Avenue, UCD would continuously focus on high-quality development, forge ahead with determination, and work hard to push the common cause to a new height. 

Pei Hongwei, general manager of Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited and chairman of UCD, pointed out in his speech that UCD is one of the six industrial sectors under Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited, and a pioneer, trailblazer and market leader in the design field of urban rail transit in China. Since its establishment, the company has closely followed the pace of the development of Chinese rail transit. Chairman Pei Hongwei also pointed out that, the headquarters office area at No.5 of North Avenue is a special landmark building invested, designed and constructed by personnel from Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited, which not only inherits the historical features of the old building, but also meets the needs of the enterprise's future development. Its retro, high-class and modern design fully reflects the cultural connotation, philosophies and sensation of UCD, making it a beautiful landscape and online influencer by the second ring road in downtown Beijing, as well as a good example of the protection, renewal and utilization of historical buildings! 

Chairman Pei Hongwei stressed that, he wishes UCD may take this as a new starting point, to create a new glory in its development of with a stronger sense of mission, a raising fighting spirit and more pragmatic practices, and write a new chapter for the great development and great leap forward of Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Limited. At the end, he announced: the headquarters office area of Beijing UCD at No.5 of North Avenue is officially open!
