Be a Good Pioneer! UCD Shows up Brilliantly at MetroTrans 2020
From October 21st to 23rd, 2020, the MetroTrans2020 with the theme of “Owning Track, Owning the Future” was grandly held at the China International Exhibition Center (Jing’anzhuang Pavilion).
At this exhibition, UCD, a large company that has the advantages on the entire rail transit industry chain, focused on displaying its fruitful achievements in the field of technology industrialization and urban rail cloud project performance. Especially the “Cloud Rail Intelligent Automation System” (hereinafter referred to as CRIAS) and intelligent control integrated machines independently developed by UCD have become a major focus of this exhibition, marking that UCD has had the full capacity of playing the leading role in providing comprehensive solutions for ”smart urban rail”.
Constructing the first all-weak current system integration “urban rail cloud” in China
The showy electronic screen, simulated sand table, concise and clear graphic introduction... all those new displays of CRIAS attracted many visitors to have a look and make exchanges or ask questions, who showed great interest in the advanced nature of the system.
The CRIAS is a comprehensive solution with “smart command, smart operation and maintenance, and smart service” independently developed by UCD based on the trend of urban rail transit smart development.
Its application in Kunming Rail Transit Line 4 is based on following the overall urban rail cloud architecture standards and using the concept of a cloud platform to divide the traditional weak current system into integrated monitoring, signal, communication, AFC, platform doors and other majors. Through unified integration, reconstruction and in-depth integration, UCD has developed a unified platform on its own, more than 50 sets of software, more than 200 microservices, and more than 40 types of boards on its own. It is the urban rail cloud with the deepest application and the widest professional scope in China. This system subverts the operation and maintenance concept and methods of traditional rail transit equipment, weakens the professional division of labor, strengthens the system function, and places more emphasis on serving production and passengers, providing basic support for the innovation of the operation enterprise management model and the reform of the maintenance management mechanism, realizing green energy saving, staff reduction and efficiency enhancement, and finally realizing smart urban rail.
According to incomplete statistics, the application of CRIAS on Kunming Rail Transit Line 4 can save more than 40 million yuan in operating costs, 30% in housing, 20% in energy consumption, and 15% in personnel.
“Smart operation and maintenance” and “smart service” are the other two secrets of the system. Based on the business integration and data integration of the cloud transportation automation system, the BIM intelligent operation and maintenance platform developed by UCD is also piloted in some stations of Kunming Rail Transit Line 4. Its core is to realize the predictive confirmation, analysis, diagnosis, and maintenance of subway system failures. The intelligent operation and maintenance of the four stages of supervision and keeping statistics will be promoted across the board in the future.
The smart service platform launched simultaneously with the initial operation of Kunming Rail Transit Line 4, Chuncheng Xing, is a unified service portal with "travel services and business operations" as the core, and provides both supply ends (merchants) and consumers (passengers) with valuable and sticky services, thus connecting the two ends of supply and demand, and provides value-added commercial services to obtain value during the consumption process, laying a platform foundation for building a subway business ecosystem.
Intelligent all-in-one machine creates a number of firsts in the field of urban rail transit
The core equipment of the urban rail cloud, the intelligent control all-in-one machine, which once appeared at the 2020 China International Trade in Services Fair, now once again “appeared” at this year's urban rail transit exhibition, attracting many people in the industry for observation and visit.
As a brand-new equipment for the station cloud platform of the subway system, the intelligent control integrated machine adopts a new cross-system and cross-professional system architecture, which highly integrates the professional equipment and corresponding functions in the originally dispersed subway station. In the cloud automation system, it replaces traditional servers, switches, storage, PLC and other equipment, and is responsible for station data collection, and realizes the reliability, integrity and unity of information collection, as well as data integration and data standardization sharing.
With the application of the “Cloud Platform-based Rail Transit Integrated Automation System” (referred to as the Cloud Rail Intelligent Automation System) on Kunming Rail Transit Line 4, this equipment has created a number of firsts in the field of urban rail transit in China and the world: A set of intelligent equipment that integrates data acquisition, storage, and calculation in the deep integration of all weak current systems in the rail transit industry; the first to realize the core equipment of rail transit station edge cloud; the first in the rail transit weak current system implementation center, The “Multiple Lives” design framework of “One Cloud” in the station. This equipment provides strong support for the realization of the eight systems of smart urban rail.
Tram and guided bus
As an earlier field, UCD has achieved outstanding performance in the field of trams, and its market share (winning bid) of intelligent control system products ranks first among similar products in China. UCD successively won the bids for the EPC project of Qingdao Chengyang Modern Tram Demonstration Line, Qinghai Delingha Tram Demonstration Line EPC Project, Shenyang Hunnan Tram South Station Branch Line Signaling System, and the Modern Tram Demonstration Line Project of the Central City Group in Southern Yunnan.
In the field of trams, UCD provides one-stop services from design and survey to engineering construction to system integration and operation and maintenance. It also provides investment and financing solutions for projects, and has undertaken large-scale projects such as PPP and EPC.
The intelligent control system for trams based on the cloud rail intelligent automation system architecture changes the model of separate disciplines under the traditional architecture; it breaks the equipment chimney system architecture and realizes professional integration, data integration, and infrastructure integration. UCD has also pioneered a level crossing control system based on vehicle-road collaboration technology. Using this technology, the number of tram stops will be reduced by more than 30% compared to the single-intersection priority method, and the average delay of the car will be reduced by 10%.
Guided buses and new light rail are new projects being developed by UCD, and they are also innovative with UCD characteristics. As an intelligent guided rapid transit system that uses a combination of virtual track and guide wheel, this system uses rubber wheels to reduce noise; overhead laying reduces intersections and road rights conflicts; uses power batteries for power supply, and rail beams are not laid under the track beams to make operation safer; uses fully automatic driving and automatic detection to improve operational efficiency; elevated trackway is adopted for independent ways, such emergency apparatuses as escape system and follow-up support ambulances have been designed for escape system across the line. The intelligent guided rapid transit system will have core technologies such as autonomous driving and vehicle-to-vehicle communication, and is an important form of intelligence, green, and energy saving realization in the transportation field.
Intentional agreement reached for the transformation of science and technological results
UCD’s technological innovation results have been fully recognized by the industry. Under the organization of the China Urban Rail Transit Association, UCD and Shaoxing Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. reached a cooperation agreement on the transformation of the smart urban rail solution “Golden Dragon Cloud” project results, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This is also the third subway line of the “Golden Dragon Cloud” system after the implementation of Kunming Rail Transit Line 4 and Taiyuan Rail Transit Line 2, which means that UCD Urban Rail Cloud is under construction and has achieved the first place in China.
The signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Shaoxing Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. on smart urban rail solutions this time reflects UCD’s forward-looking and conscious support for the R&D and application of smart urban rail independent technologies and products, its attention on research, learning, and accepting innovative results, and its boldness to apply them in planning and engineering design to pave the way for innovative results.
