UCD Successfully Conducts “Design-led, Cloud-driven Smart Rail Transit Industry”Forum and Attends Metro Trans 2020

From October 21st to 23rd, the MetroTrans 2020 was held in the Jing’anzhuang Pavilion of the Beijing International Exhibition Center. Nearly 200 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 industry personnel participated in the exhibition. The International Summit Forum was divided into 5 major sections ------ the main forum, the sub-forum, the association session, the organizing committee session and the theme unit, including 10 sub-forums and 20 offline activities, covering a multitude of aspects such as technical seminars, roadshows, releases, signings, etc. 

On October 23rd, the sub-forum entitled “Design-led, Cloud Smart Rail Transit Industry” undertaken jointly by the Design Consulting Experts Committee and Engineering Construction Committee of China Urban Road Transportation Association and co-organized by UCD and China Urban Planning and Research Institute, was held. More than 300 people from the urban rail transit industry participated in the forum.

Vice President of China Urban Rail Transit Association, Director of the Association’s Design Consulting Experts Committee, and UCD’s General Manager Wang Hanjun extended a warm welcome and expressed sincere gratitude to the leaders and experts present at the meeting on behalf of UCD and of the Design Consulting Experts Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association.

UCD’s General Manager Wang Hanjun mentioned in his speech that rail transit is the lifeline of urban mobility, and that the urban rail cloud is the basic platform and technology base to sustain the leapfrog development of the rail transit industry. With the rapid development of information technology, cutting-edge technologies such as cloud technology, big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and 5G communications, have been deeply integrated with the construction of "urban rail cloud", presenting a new trend of digital, networked, and intelligent development. Especially in March this year, the Outline for the Development of Smart Urban Rail Transit in China's Urban Rail Transit was officially released. “Urban Rail Cloud” and big data platforms were among them, pointing out the direction for future development. Only by adhering to the design-oriented development, doing a good job of the top-level design of the system, and giving play to the leading role of the design, can we effectively handle the key points, difficult points and pain points of smart urban rail construction and promote the upgraded transformation of the “urban rail cloud” from management to service, from extensive to accurate, and from automatic to intelligent growth patterns so as to achieve rapid and stable development.

Li Guoyong, vice president of China Urban Rail Transit Association, attended the assembly, and Zhong Jianhua, executive deputy director of the Association’s Expert Academic Committee, delivered a speech at the forum. This forum was presided over by the Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Design Consulting Experts Committee of China Urban Rail Transit Association and Yu Songwei, Deputy General Manager of UCD.

The forum was divided into two parts: keynote speech and theme speech. In the keynote speeches, the Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Engineering Construction Committee of the Association, Zhao Yixin, Dean of the Urban Transport Branch of China Urban Planning and Design Institute, Xu Mingjie, Consultant Dean of Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Xing Zhiming of the Association’s expert and academic committee were invited. Three experts from the committee gave lectures on “Smart Perception-The Road to High-quality Development of TOD”, “Application of Cloud Computing in Urban Rail Transit” and “China Standard Urban Rail Cloud and Network Security-Smart Urban Rail Development Base”, etc.

In the theme speech, guests were invited to exchanged views with the attendees on urban rail transit cloud cases in Shaoxing, Taiyuan and Kunming, including Guo Jianwei, assistant general manager of Taiyuan Rail Transit Development Co., Ltd., Meng Hongbo, deputy general manager of Yun Nanjing Construction Rail Transit Investment and Construction Co., Ltd., and Hong Xiumin, director of the Electrical and Mechanical Management Department of Shaoxing Rail Transit Group.

At the end of the forum, Li Jinlong, the lead expert of UCD’s Li Jinlong Innovation Studio and the chief engineer of the Tenth Design Institute, and his team made use of lightweight modeling tools to model the venue in a short time, and at the same time set up a real-time control simulation environment on site, and used the on-site high-definition camera, video analysis technology and AI algorithm to map the speaker’s action trajectory into the three-dimensional space to simulate the streamline presentation of passengers entering and exiting the station; wireless temperature and humidity sensors, pan-tilts installed camera no site, and completed the relevant POI definition, simulated the scene of intelligent inspection in intelligent operation and maintenance; through on-site real-time compression and display of a video HD camera, the team conducted comparisons between real-time coding of H.264 and video-compressed data through the data center.

This kind of live demonstration made the audience participating in the forum to intuitively feel a kind of feasibility---the use of equipment can quickly present the existing stations, lines, and network in the model, and collect real-time data in the environment, and finally realize intelligent application, bringing a new immersive experience to the participants as well as a sudden spotlight to the eyes of the audience, which fully reflects UCD’s scientific and technological research and development results and better experiences the uniqueness of the “Golden Dragon Cloud” system, and also makes one deeply feel what is called technology changing life and innovation making the future!

In this “Design-led, Cloud-driven Smart Rail Transit Industry” forum, seven industry experts focused on improving the efficiency of rail transit operation and command, promoting the development of smart urban rail and other topics, combined with project construction practices, and discussed the design-led development from different perspectives and how the urban rail cloud drives the smart rail transit industry, which received ardent repercussions and won wide acclaim from the participants.

During the exhibition, General Manager Wang Hanjun visited UCD’s booths, the booth of 7 National Engineering Laboratories of Innovation Network, and the CCRM media booth of China Urban Rail Transit Network. General Manager Wang Hanjun affirmed the company’s performance in independent innovation and market development in the fields of urban rail cloud, smart all-in-one, trams and guided buses, and praised UCD’s urban rail transit green and safe construction technology in national engineering laboratory section. He pointed out that it is necessary to accelerate the industrialization process of UCD’s scientific research results.

UCD’s Deputy General Manager Yin Zhiguo attended the main forum of the summit forum on UCD’s behalf and visited UCD’s booths.
