 First Phase of Subway Line 2 Goes into Operation —— Shijiazhuang, a Beautiful City, Enters into the networked Subway Era

 

At 9:30 on the morning of Aug. 26, the first phase of urban rail transit Line 2 started its trial operation in Shijiazhuang, the third survey and design general contract line that was completed and opened to traffic by UCD’s Shijiazhuang branch institute over ten years’ time in the wake of the first phase and second phase of Line 1 opened to traffic. After the trial operation, Line 2 will constitute, together with Line 1 and Line 3, the skeleton rail transit line network in Shijiazhuang to make the cross-shaped development of the rail traffic complete and intact, which will inevitably produce far-reaching influence on the basic formation of the skeleton line network and bring the subway scale merit into play.

The opening ceremony for the trial operation of Line 2 was conducted at the Beiguoshangcheng Station and was presided over by Li Xuerong, Executive Vice Mayor of Shijiazhuang. China Railway Group Limited’s Vice President Liu Baolong and Shijiazhuang’s Mayor Deng Peiran delivered remarks respectively. Xing Guohui, Municipal Party Secretary of Shijiazhuang, announced the opening of the line to traffic. Wang Qi, deputy director of UCD’s rail transit institute and director of UCD’s Shijiazhuang branch institute, and representatives of the main project personnel attended the opening ceremony.

Started from Jiahualu Station at the Shenglinanjie Street, the first phase of Line 2 has been laid northward alongside the Shenglinanjie Street, and transfer is made at the existing Line 3 and Line 1. Passing through Yuhua Road, Zhongshan Road, Heping Road, the line turns to Shenglibeijie to the terminus Liuxinzhuang Station. Line 2 has a total length of 15.482 kilometers or so, and there are 15 stations in all.

Since the winning of the tender for the first phase of Line 2 in 2015, UCD’s Shijiazhuang branch institute and its headquarters institute surmounted difficulties with strenuous efforts and constructed the first underground station with tunneling method in Hebei Province —— Chang’an Park Station, the first bridge pile underpinning project for the first shield tunnel section to pass through the overpass area —— Jianhe Bridge, the first master substation all underground —— Canal Bridge Substation, the first underground atrium-style station —— Yuhua Road Station, and tried the "naked decoration" design concept of "less decoration, high headroom" for the first time, creating many technology pioneers for the construction of rail transit lines in Hebei as well as many “net celebrity check-in locations” in subway stations.

The smooth opening of Line 2 is inseparable from the support and help of leaders at all levels and expert teams of the headquarters institute, inseparable from the hard work of the project personnel, and inseparable from the assistance of all colleagues to the fullest extent.
