Let Youth Glitter at Kunming Metro Line 4

Bloom for youth, burn for dreams. At the critical stage of overcoming difficulties for the construction of Kunming Metro Line 4, young people charged forward and fought hard to sing the strongest voice at the production line with the dedication of youth.

On May 4th, at Kunming Metro Line 4 UCD staffs organized the May 4th Movement activity on the theme of "Inheriting the May 4th Spirit and Dedicating the Power of Youth". 300 employees mainly composed of Youth League members and young people set off an upsurge of vigorous voluntary labor campaign. Without making any bargain and regardless of any difficulty, they shouldered the heavy burden bravely and made a thorough cleaning of the 15 rail line areas of the northern section of Kunming Metro Line 4, gaining time and creating favorable conditions for various kinds of debugging work in the days to come.

At 9 a.m., the young cleaners assembled at the stations on time. The first vanguard and second vanguard teams consisting of Youth League members took charge of the cleaning of Haitun Road Station, which was the most arduous and difficult part of the cleaning.

It was muggy inside the station, with lots of dust and mud. The tunnel space was narrow and dim, and the gutter was full of silt, concrete blocks, discarded wire and other debris, making it very difficult to clean.

UCD’s young people could rush ahead at the critical moment. "Comrades, go ahead ..." summoned the team leader, and all people quickly rolled up their sleeves, and picked up the shovels, brooms, and garbage bags to have started the cleaning in full swing. The looming figures, the beams of flickering lights, and the crisp sound of spades shoveling away the garbage constituted a beautiful and moving picture of labor.

After 6 hours of continuous work, about 20 tons of garbage were cleaned up, and 15 stations took on a new look thoroughly, becoming a beautiful view. After the cleaning, masks of all people turned from white into gray, with their clothes dotted with mud. However, seeing the results of a day's labor, everyone smiled and the exhaustion suddenly disappeared.

On May 4th, UCD’s young employees spent the day through hard work, singing the song of youth with a struggling posture, and using the power of youth to express their most sincere wishes.

In fact, on Kunming Metro Line 4, the story of struggle happens every day at different places. And the young people have always gritted their teeth to hang on and contribute with passion.

Guided by a banner, inspired with a red heart and blood, hundreds and thousands of young people are making unremitting efforts towards the same goal.
