Pull together to combat the epidemic – A letter to all the UCD people

To the Whole Staff of UCD,

In the year of the Rat, for the pneumonia outbreak caused by novel coronavirus in Hubei Province and other places, all Chinese people have experienced a very unusual Spring Festival together. These days, we are worried about the ever-changing epidemic at every moment, but meanwhile, we are excited for every effort for and every positive progress in fighting against the epidemic. Now, after the epidemic outbreak, what UCD expects most is the health and peace of every employee and your family members. At this moment, the hearts of all UCD people are linked together closely. 

In this period of time, we are pulling together to combat the epidemic, and we are together!  

When an epidemic breaks out, a command is issued. It is our responsibility to prevent and control it. We have established the Epidemic Prevention and Control Work Leading Group headed by General Manager Wang Hanjun and Secretary Li Guoqing to uniformly guide the epidemic prevention and control. Since Jan. 21, we have paid attention to the changes of the epidemic at every moment, made clear and recorded every employee’s travel arrangements and health condition, implemented the “daily report” and “zero report” system, conveyed the requirements of the superior and the arrangement information of the UCD to every employee in time, and supported the epidemic prevention and control uncompromisingly. 

In this period of time, we are pulling together to combat the epidemic, and we are together!！ 

UCD is always concerned about every employee and your family members all over the world. The health of employees is the most valuable wealth of the UCD. We shall start from ourselves, strengthen protection, actively enhance the awareness of health, understand the knowledge of epidemic prevention and control, carry out rational diet, regular work and rest, and moderate exercise, and improve our own immunity. We shall prevent cold and keep warm, pay attention to personal hygiene, wash hands frequently, wear masks when going outside, and properly treat protective articles and garbage. We shall avoid going to crowded places and places with poor air circulation, minimize travel outside, avoid parties, and lower the risk of infection to the greatest extent. We shall start from ourselves and from the petty things in daily life, affect and drive the family members, relatives and friends to do a good job of protection together. In case of fever, dry cough or other symptoms of respiratory tract infection, we must seek medical attention in time and make a report at the first moment.

We must keep a scientific mind to cope with the epidemic, maintain rational understanding and firm confidence, obtain relevant information about the epidemic from official channels, and shall never believe or spread rumors. We shall adjust our emotions actively, stay enterprising, care about and encourage each other, and firmly keep the confidence to overcome the epidemic. We shall understand and treat the epidemic with a scientific attitude, and shall not slack off or go panic. We are pulling together to combat the epidemic, we are together!

We will encounter various kinds of difficulties and inconveniences. To resolutely overcome the epidemic situation, we must strictly implement the uniform deployment and requirements of the state, the local government and the UCD for the epidemic prevention and control, and actively cooperate with the relevant investigation and report work. At present, the UCD counts the employees’ itinerary and physical condition every day, and implements the daily report and zero report system. Everybody shall take this seriously, and give feedback truthfully. The UCD’s related information will also be issued at the first moment through WeChat group, e-mail, public account and other information platforms.

Meanwhile, in view of the present special period, your understanding is expected if the assistance is not in place or beyond the UCD’s reach.   

In the face of the epidemic, we firmly believe that the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core provides us with the confidence and courage to overcome the epidemic; the careful and scientific deployment for the epidemic and the care for every employee provide us with the most powerful weapons to overcome the epidemic.
