On Dec. 10, the Construction Industry Science and Technology Innovation & 2018-2019 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National Quality Project) Commendation Conference was held ceremoniously in Beijing. The project completed by UCD, known as the north outer ring road of Anqing City(airport avenue - Wanjiang Avenue), won Luban Prize. On behalf of UCD, Deputy General Manager Wang Liang appeared on the stage and received the “Luban Golden Statue”, the highest prize featuring construction engineering quality.

The Luban Prize is the highest honor for engineering quality in China’s construction industry. UCD’s winning the prize is a manifestation of strength and ingenuity, and shows a good brand image.

The north outer ring road (Airport Avenue - Wanjiang Avenue) is the first PPP project in China, a municipal road for pure public welfare. Situated in northeast part of Anqing, the road is a main trunk road running through northwest and southeast of Anqing’s urban area. Starting from the west side of the Airport Avenue and ending at the crossroads of the Wanjiang Avenue, the road stretches as long as 14.93km. There are a total of 12 bridges and 43 culverts along the road, creating a bridge-tunnel rate of 28.7%, with the devised speed being 60km/h.

The project cooperation time limit is 2013, including the construction period being 2 years and the operational period being 11 years. Started on June 6, 2015, the project was completed and opened to traffic on Sep. 28, 2016. The contracted construction period was 24 months and the actual construction period was 16 months, 8 months ahead of the scheduled construction period. So far the project has been operated at a higher standard for 3 years.
