CURTA Holds Technology Achievements Evaluation Conference on “Cloud-Platform-Based Integrated Rail Transit Automation System”
On Nov. 26, experts of China Urban Rail Transit Association (CURTA) and of the Academic Committee organized the technology achievements evaluation conference on “Cloud-Platform-Based Integrated Rail Transit Automation System”. Through appraisal, the automation system was rated as being on the international advanced level.
The conference was presided over by Zhong Jianhua, standing deputy director of the Academic Committee. Qian Qingquan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, acted as head of the evaluation team, with the expert teams composed of other 10 experts from Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Kunming, Taiyuan, Xi’an and Chongqing.
Li Jinlong, chief engineer of UCD’s 10th design institute, and Wu Zhengzhong, chief engineer of the industrialization promotion department, made reports respectively on the design philosophy, technology and application in the achievements. “Cloud-Platform-Based Rail Transit Integrated Automation System” adopts the innovative, smart-metro-oriented, open, and unitary structure, breaking down the former light-current structure and setting up the new rail transit light-current automation system. the new system has taken the place of such traditional systems as integrated monitoring, automatic train monitoring, broadcasting, passenger information, intensified warning, automatic ticket selling and checking, and platform gate and so on, and has deeply blended with the communication and signaling systems. The new system adopts the concepts of flat platform, granular functions, visualization of data analysis, and visualization of interactive operations and, by virtue of intensive, networked, and functional ideas and by use of cloud computing and big data, the system has been re-integrated and re-constructed with in-depth blend and granular functions. Meanwhile, the interconnected office automation and passenger service systems have been conducted. The data have been profoundly developed and applied. The new system has overturned the traditional rail transit equipment operation and maintenance concepts and methods, thereby being a brand-new attempt of the scientific and technological innovation in the rail transit system.
After listening to the report by Academician Qian Qingquan, the Chinese Academy of Engineering fully affirmed the research results obtained in this project, and pointed out that this project was based on the cloud architecture standard defined by the association, and integrated the signaling system and integrated monitoring system based on cloud platform. So far, the application on Kunming Line 4 has achieved relatively satisfactory results. The dream of a powerful transportation country in the future is still very long, and the realization of the dream of a smart city rail on this basis requires all of us to work together to make it come true.
The experts on site conducted serious discussions on the system creation, key technologies, and engineering applications of the cloud transit automation system. in line with the specifications of the urban rail cloud defined by the association, questions were raised as regards the scope of the data access layer and reliability and scalability of the intelligent all-in-one machine, as well as database compatibility, data integration and processing, and cloud boundaries, and the reporting representatives of the achievement completion units answered the questions one by one. The experts then gave marks on six aspects ranging from the level of innovation, the advanced level of technical and economic indicators, the difficulty and complexity of technology, the reproducibility and maturity of technology, the role of technological innovation in promoting technological progress and improving market competitiveness, and economic or social benefits. They unanimously agreed that the project, based on the overall urban rail cloud architecture standards, adopts the design concepts of infrastructure fusion, data fusion, and application fusion, and uses advanced technologies such as cloud platforms and big data to achieve the platform service layer application through the application of station intelligent integrated machines. The application of software microservices architecture deeply integrates multiple automation systems, and realizes the comprehensive operation of the cloud transit automation system. Its core key technology and completely independent core equipment are on the international advanced level and have extensive use value.
Subsequently, general manager Wang Hanjun made a speech on behalf of the achievement completion unit and expressed his sincere gratitude to the expert evaluation team. He said that the next step will be to further deepen, refine and improve the existing results according to the requirements and suggestions of experts. It can better improve the construction and operation level of relevant urban rail transit, and make corresponding contributions to China's urban rail transit industry.
In the end, Zhong Jianhua, executive director of the Expert Academic Committee, summarized the scientific and technological achievements evaluation conference on "Cloud-Platform-Based Integrated Rail Transit Automation System " and pointed out that the project has achieved staged results and it is not easy for the project to win high praises. He fully affirmed and thanked the experts from universities, scientific research institutions, proprietors' units and associations for their valuable opinions and suggestions on the project, especially from the experts led by Academician Qian Qingquan today, who provided valuable opinions other than subject appraisals, which is indeed for the construction of high-rise buildings to be worthy of reference by experts and agencies in the related fields of urban rail cloud research.
Through the evaluation, “Cloud-Platform-Based Integrated Rail Transit Automation System” has been followed with interest and recognized more broadly in the industry and has offered more motive power for us to improve our scientific and technological innovation work in the future!
