First-ever Train for Rail Transit Line 4 of Kunming Successfully Goes into Operation

On Oct. 20, the first electric passenger train for Rail Transit Line 4 of Kunming was successfully made and went into operation at CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. Xia Xiujiang, manager of the Investment & Construction Management Department, chief engineer Pan Biao, Zhang Yu, general director for the operation of Rail Transit Line 4, and Li Chengxiang, general manager of Urban Rail Transit Department of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The train for Rail transit Line 4 of Kunming is the first electric passenger train of DC1500V in Kunming. The train, an EN455545 third-rail flow B train composed of 6 compartments with 4 being power-driven and 2 powerless, is the top fireproofing train among subway trains of Kunming. At the same time, the train uses its own battery traction technology for the first time in the Kunming subway network. It has the ability of TCMS vehicle fault and vehicle status to return the vehicle segment in real time, and the train-mounted vehicle status online monitoring system cooperates with the ground intelligent operation and maintenance system, which has a high maintainability. The new train has a wheel-pair tread cleaning and rounding device, cancels the car brake resistor and uses the ground energy feedback device, which is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly.

The whole train adopts LED lights with illumination, and is equipped with diversified high-definition large-screen LCD dynamic maps and LCD passenger information display screens, and supports passenger room temperature adjustment to introduce passenger capacity control, which improves the ride comfort while taking into account energy conservation and environmental protection, enriching the experience of human-computer interaction interface. 

With the production started on June 21, 2019, it took only 121 days to complete the production of the electric passenger train, creating the fastest production record in the history of subways of Kunming. Currently, the second electric passenger train has entered into the final stage of general assembly, striding with accelerated paces towards the handover of the first two trains to Kunming on Oct. 31.
