UCD Puts Up a Good Show in BUCG’s Badminton Matches 

Where there are drooping willows and lotuses all around and far and wide, I ask the clouds above where there are flowers in maximum numbers, then come to the flowers to listen to the reed pipe music. Cheers and rhythm of struggle played up the song of BUCG’s sports meet in autumn! On the afternoons of Sep. 9th and 11th, to further enrich employees’ spare-time cultural life and to usher in the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with actual deeds, the trade union of Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd. (BUCG) sponsored and the general contracting department of constructional engineering co-sponsored the “BUCG’s Thanks giving Cup for Badminton Games”, which kicked off ceremoniously at the badminton gym of the Beijing College Students’ Stadium.

“Come on, design institute, ......” Cheers from UCD’s cheering squad reverberated inside the gym！ UCD’s trade union attached great importance to the sports meet and organized meticulously and selected 23 excellent players for the badminton matches. 25 subsidiary companies of BUCG took part in the sports games, with the number of players reaching 258. There were 12 sports events and the players were divided into youth groups (males and females respectively), middle-aged groups, old-age groups for singles, men’s singles, women’s doubles, women’s doubles, men’s and women’s singles for groups of leaders, mixed doubles and team competition. Through two half days’ fierce competition and with the participation of good players, UCD’s players exerted all their strengths and won two gold medals, five silver medals, one bronze medal, a fourth place, , four fifths! UCD also won the prize for excellent organization!

The games kicked off on Sep. 9th with fierce competition, and the games started simultaneously at 15 sports grounds. High-spirited players met their matches in the fiery competitions and the scores alternately rising immediately ignited the atmosphere of the whole badminton gym. UCD’s 23 players had gone through intensified training for more than one month before the games. They overcame the difficulties and actively made preparations for the games, reflecting the team spirit and strength! In the games, the players worked lots of sweat and were brave to struggle for every score and fought for the fame of UCD! UCD’s trade union provided logistical support with all their exertions, and trade unions at the grass-roots level offered energetic support and sent working staffs to offer service to the players and to cheer for them！

Congratulations to the prize-winning players! Thanks to the players for their winning the fame for UCD! Excellent scores not only manifest UCD’s morale of solidarity, struggle and first-mover spirit, but also demonstrate UCD’s strong combat effectiveness and cohesion!

The year 2020 will usher in the BUCG’s grand sports meet held once every five years. With full confidence, the players are prepared for the assembly, preservation of strength, accumulation of experience and hard training, and are prepared to strive for the collective honor of UCD! Seeds of sports have been sown, enthusiasm of the team has been ignited. Let us work together and continue to stride forward for our own reputation!!!
