UCD’s 2019 "Safe Production Month" Kick-off Meeting Held

June is the “safe production month” once a year. The theme of this year’s “safe production month” is “guarding against risks, hidden dangers and accidents”. On the afternoon of June 5, UCD held the kick-off meeting for the “Safe Production Month” of 2019 at the site of 22nd tender project of Metro Line 16. Party secretary Li Guoqing, Party deputy secretary and trade union chairperson Mi Jianzhou, deputy general manager Wang Liang, safety director and head of safety engineering department He Junhua, track company manager Liao Qiulin and other leaders attended the meeting. Beijing-based project managers, safety deputy managers, production deputy managers and workers’ representatives were present as well.

At the meeting, the deputy general manager Wang Liang firstly read out UCD's "Circular on Printing and Distributing the "Safe Production Month" Program for 2019"; Liu Xu, Project Manager of the 22nd tender project of Line 16, read out the Safety Month Proposal as a representative of the project managers; workers’ representatives made a pledge on the spot, and the leaders gave out safety month promotional materials and heatstroke cooling supplies to the workers.

Finally, Party Secretary Li Guoqing delivered remarks and set the demands: Firstly, unify thinking, recognize the situation, and fully understand the importance of safe production. Under the grand blueprint of UCD's 13th Five-Year Plan and the building of UCD into a 10-billion-Yuan enterprise, leaders of all units and project managers should pay attention to safety management, improve the safety management teams, increase safety investment, reduce safety risks, and straighten up safety management work at source, strengthen the control, and implement the safety management responsibility on a level-to-level basis, so as to bring the safety production work under control and ensure the continuous and sound development of UCD’s safety production management. Secondly, focus on seasonal construction and conduct in-depth inspections of safety production. All units should seize the opportunity of safety production month activities, comprehensively carry out investigation and rectification of hidden dangers in safety production, make safety production management a solid work, resolutely stop up all kinds of conducts violating  rules and regulations on construction command, operation, labor discipline and labor safety, and resolutely eradicate the occurrence of production safety accidents. Thirdly, actively carry out special activities and vigorously promote the corporate safety culture atmosphere. All units must combine the actual conditions of the company and the projects, carry out the activities of “Safe Production Month” with distinctive features, new ideas and effects, and form a safety management culture with corporate characteristics. In the activities, efforts should be made to improve employees' safety awareness, safe operation skills and self-protection. Focusing on the theme of “guarding against risks, hidden dangers and accidents”, we will vigorously promote the concept of “people-oriented” safety development and effectively protect the safety of life and property of all participating construction workers.
