Rail Transit Line 7 of Shenzhen with UCD’s Participation in the Construction Wins the 16th Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize
On April 12th, the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of the Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize and the 16th Awards Ceremony were held ceremoniously in Beijing. The 16th Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize saw 30 civil engineering projects winning the prize, including 3 rail transit projects, of which the rail transit line 7 of Shenzhen with UCD’s participation in the construction was among the prize winners.
The Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize is aimed at rewarding and commending civil engineering construction projects that come out top in China in terms of scientific and technological innovation and application. The 16th Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize saw 30 civil engineering projects chosen through public appraisal from among 139 excellent projects signed up for the prize. Those prize-winning projects went mates with technological innovation in terms of engineering design, green environmental protection technology, ecological and environmental protection technology, historical and cultural protection, engineering safety monitoring, etc. The China Civil Engineering Society attaches great importance to the selection and commendation activities for prize winners, adheres to high standards and strict requirements, constantly revises and improves the appraisement mechanism of Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize, and strictly enforces the internal management system to promote the continuous expansion and influence of the prize in the industry, thus becoming the highest prize for scientific and technological innovation in the field of civil engineering construction in China, and playing a positive role in facilitating the prosperity and development of civil engineering science and technology in China.
Presented by China Civil Engineering Society and the Beijing Zhan Tianyou Development Foundation for Science and Technology, the prize is issued under the support and guidance of such competent authorities as the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Water Resources and the China Railway Corporation. The prize has taken place once a year since the third time, and the number of prize winners will generally not exceed 30.
