Design Team for the New Airport Line Wins First Prize of Emulation Campaign and Certificate of Merit for Advanced Individual

On Jan. 30, 2019, Beijing Rail Transit Construction Management Co., Ltd. held the new airport line summing-up meeting for the year 2018 and work arrangement meeting for 2019, summarizing the work done for the construction of the new airport line and setting the date for the completion of the line in September, 2019, demanding the unity of thinking among various construction units to advance the work unswervingly pursuant to the set targets and to ensure the due completion of the project.

The new airport line is the first-ever domestic regional express line suitable for urban trains with the highest speed reaching 160km/h and the power supply mode being AC25kV, playing an exemplary role for the construction of subsequent regional lines in terms of type selection and construction standards. In July, 2015, UCD won the tender for the general contracting for the design of the new airport line; in December of 2016, UCD fulfilled the PPP tendering work for the new airport line; in January of 2017, UCD officially started the project construction; in December of 2018, civil engineering was completed on the whole, and now the equipment system installation and debugging is being conducted across the board.

In 2018, Beijing Municipal federation of Trade Unions organized the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei traffic integration（Beijing area of competition）emulation campaign for the new airport line, and the campaign was co-sponsored by Beijing Rail Transit Construction Management Co., Ltd., covering all sectors of design, construction, supervision and management, etc. 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 10 third prizes were issued for the winners. Through project recommendation and selection by proprietors, UCD won the first prize from among more than 40 construction units involved in design, construction, supervision and reconnaissance. 5 persons, including Jiang Chuanzhi, Shen Xiaoxun, Zhao Yuan, Huang He and Liu Xiaobo, won the certificates of merit for advanced individuals.

The year of 2019 is the year of decisive engagement for the completion of the new airport line. The project team will maintain the high morale to ensure the successful completion of the project for transport service as scheduled.
