The 6th “Health Cup” Basketball Game 3X3 Conducted Successfully 

Autumn is the season in which blue water and azure sky look a complete whole. On the occasion of the harvest season, UCD ushers in the 60th anniversary of its establishment. To carry out the present-day health concept of “One-hour workout each day for 50 years of work safe and sound and a happy life throughout all years”, on Sep. 21, 2018, the 6th “Health Cup” Basketball Game 3X3 conducted by UCD kicked off at the gymnasium of University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). 

Li Guoqing, UCD’s Party Chief, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an ebullient speech, wishing the players good job in the competitions and the game a complete success! Xu Chengyong, Party Chief of the rail transit institute, delivered remarks on behalf of the undertaker, giving thanks for UCD’s trust and offering to go to great lengths in the service work! UCD’s Labor Union Chairperson Mi Jianzhou spoke about the preparatory work done before the game, expressed gratitude to the undertaker and to all athletes and working staffs, and announced the opening of the game. After the opening ceremony, Li Guoqing and Xu Chengyong kicked off for the basketball game.

As one of UCD’s traditional games and a team event, basketball has always been adored and supported by sports lovers. Sponsored by UCD’s Labor Union and undertaken by the labor union of the rail transit institute, the game was planned and organized meticulously, with players of various units actively signing up for the competitions. Eventually, more than 100 basketball players of 22 teams from 14 units were qualified for the game. Professional referees were invited for the game to ensure a fair play. The game was divided into round-robins and knockout matches. Full of vim and vigor and with high morale, the players did their level best in the competitions, highlighting the spirit of struggling in solidarity, being brave and resourceful, and daring to challenge. The number of competitions done in the past bettered the levels of the players and each team cannot be belittled. Shouts of cheers and support snowballed into an ocean of joys. Through fierce competitions, No.1 Team of the surveying institute, No.1 Team of the investment and construction company, No.1 Team of the urban construction institute, No.2 Team of the rail transit institute, No.1 Team of first and second branches of UCD’s organs, No.1 Team of the rail track company, No.2 Team of the surveying institute, and No.1 Team of the rail track institute successfully became the top eight teams！The competitions were cliff-hanging, with No.1 Team of the rail track institute beating all its competitors in the overtime to get first, No.1 Team of the surveying institute being the runner-up, and the No.1 Team of first and second branches of UCD’s organs being the second runner-up. After the game, UCD’s Labor Union Chairperson Mi Jianzhou and Labor Union Chairperson of the rail track institute Shen Hong issued certificates and awards to the winners and extended congratulations to them on their winning good results! 

Each of the games has been a visual feast, a moment for the enhancement of athletics and a strengthened cohesion of the teams. We look forward to more basketball lovers to join the ranks of athletes in the coming year and expect the endurance of the spirit of indomitable struggle, solidarity and cooperation！
