2018 CAM’s DCC Annual Conference and Smart Metro Technical Forum held in Beijing
On September 7, China Association of Metros (CAM)’s Design and Consulting Committee (DCC) 2018 Annual Conference and Smart Metro Technical Forum was held in Beijing.
Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group Co., Ltd.(BJUCD), as the home of CAM’s DCC, hosted the conference and received more than 230 representatives and experts from industrial associations, urban rail survey and design institutions, project consulting agencies, construction and operation management companies, universities and media to have in-depth discussions on the innovative development of smart metro.
CAM’s executive vice chairman Zhou Xiaoqin addressed the conference. Over the past year, since taking the office, the new DCC, with the support from its members, especially the efforts of BJUCD, has made outstanding achievements and interpreted to the Guo Ban Fa No. 52 Document through studying the situation, pursuing solutions and expanding influence.
Ning Bin, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and president of Beijing Jiaotong University, gave a keynote speech, talking about the four major functions of Smart Metro’s operation control system based on its four main characteristics, explaining the key technologies including interconnection, train-train communication, initiative perception and cloud dispatching for metro train control, and pointing out the direction of smart operation and maintenance.
Chen Xiangsheng, academician of CAE, vice director of DCC and engineer-in-chief of Shenzhen Metro, introduced Shenzhen’s experience in metro planning and design from the aspects of comprehensive application of underground space, and collaboration between rail traffic land resources and urban space, construed the concept of the consistency of metro construction and operation with urban construction and operation, and proposed four ideas including smart metro to indicate the industrial trend and direction.
Wang Hanjun, director of DCC and general manager of BJUCD, gave the 2017-2018 work report of CAM’s DCC. According to the report, over the past year, DCC, with the principle of boosting the sustainable and healthy development of urban rail traffic design and consulting services, the focus on boosting in-depth communications and collaborations between its members, the method of strengthening the division of labor and coordination of work, and the cornerstone of improving the level and innovative ability of the design and consulting field, has intensified its team building, improved work mechanisms, given full play of its linking role between governments and enterprises as well as between different enterprises, carried out the five concepts of innovation, i.e. coordination, green, opening-up and shared development, and boosted its work in a practical and efficient way. In accordance with CAM’s overall deployment and requirement, DCC completed the assignments, closely coordinated with other specialty committees to steadily boost various tasks, finished the establishment of a new team and the Secretary-general Quarterly Work Conference system, streamlined the problems and suggestions on the application of norms and criteria, collaboratively broke through difficulties in design and consulting services, set up technical communication platforms, boosted the industrial development and research topics through labor division, carried out the solicitation and preliminary review on the organization- establishing standard, actively attended special activities organized by CAM and other specialty committees, and summarized monthly newsletters for specialty committees. Through one-year hard work, the cohesion of all committees was strengthened, and the influence of CAM to its committees and even the industry was intensified.
In the future, DCC will follow the idea of “streamlining tasks in a concentrated mode, boosting projects through job division, discussing the processes and sharing the achievements with industrial peers” to continuously boost the hot scientific research topics of industrial common concern, build technical communication platforms, improve the overall level of design and consulting industry, and center on the Smart Metro theme to form industrial resultant force. In detail, DCC will organize the formulation of “Directives for Urban Rail Traffic Information Safety Protection Grade”, “Internet of Things Criteria for Smart Metro”, “Directives for Urban Rail Traffic Civil Telecommunication Resources Operation”, “Urban Rail Traffic BIM Application Criteria and Organization Establishment Standard”, “Directives on Selection of AFC Mobile Payment Modes”, push forward the application of smart manufacturing technologies in urban rail traffic design, and make its contribution to the progress and development of China’s urban rail traffic cause.
The Smart Metro Paper Solicitation received enthusiastic industrial responses and support. A total of 183 papers, covering smart design, smart manufacturing, smart operation and maintenance, smart equipment, smart control and command system and other specialties, were received. The book Selected Smart Metro Papers was released at the conference. And certificates were granted to 14 representatives for the first authors of the papers.
The conference’s sub-forums with themes on engineering technologies and comprehensive management invited 12 industrial experts to give wonderful reports and in-depth discussions on hot industrial topics.
At the comprehensive management sub-forum, BJUCD’s vice chief engineer Song Yi shared his understanding to full automatic operation and smart metro with the audience. From the aspects of technologies, enterprise participation and benefits, he elaborated the concept of smart metro by means of Internet of Things, Internet, cloud technology, big data, BIM, information and other technologies.
At the sub-forum on engineering technologies, Li Jinlong, chief engineer of BJUCD No. 10 Institute, gave a speech titled Great Opportunities Produce Great Products: Rail Traffic Automatic Control System under Conceptual Design, shared his NOCC design process and ideas with the participants and blueprinted the future metro stations. Zhang Jianxu, executive vice president of Smart Project Institute under Beijing Urban Construction Exploration & Surveying Design Research Institute, gave a report of Exploration and Practices of Digital Metro Development, elaborating the application and exploration of digital metro in the metro’s life cycle from the aspects of digital metro’s background and key technologies.
