UCD receives laurels of outstanding design team and advanced individuals for Beijing Subway Line 3 Phase I 

Recently Beijing MTR Construction Administration Corporation No. 4 Project Center released the Decision on Commending Outstanding Units and Advanced Individuals of Subway Line 3 Phase I Project, recognizing outstanding units with excellent cohesion and power of execution and advanced individuals who have been dedicated and distinguished themselves in preparation and construction of Phase I of Beijing Subway Line 3 in 2017. UCD, the general contractor and Civil Engineering Package 05 designer, won the honor of outstanding designer.

Located in central Beijing, Beijing Subway Line 3 is an east-west rail trunk line. It is positioned as a large-capacity transportation line, constituting Beijing rail transit large-capacity network together with Line 12, 17 and 19 which will be launched in the same period. Subway Line 3 Phase I starts from Dongsi Shitiao Station on the west, runs eastwards along Gongti North Road, Nongzhanguan South Road, Chaoyang Park South Road, Yaojiayuan Road, then turns to Xinghuo area at the planned Xinghuo Station, and then turns east along Yaojiayuan Beiyi Road to Dongba Middle Road and enters Dongbao area, and runs along Dongba Street and Jinyu Road to the end of the line. Line 3 involves existing station renovation, crossing underneath existing operating stations, assembly stations, simultaneous construction of pipeline racks, featuring high difficulties in construction. In the process of design and construction, wisdom and efforts of all parties are pooled to eliminate risks of construction and lower construction costs. 

UCD, as the general contractor of design of the Phase I, has established a design team in line with high standards and strict requirements in July 2014 to enable reasonable arrangement and outstanding designs. Currently all equipment for Phase I are in place. Some stations have completed construction shafts and cross aisles and came to the main body construction stage. With joint efforts of all participants of Line 3, UCD won the honor of outstanding designer while Wang Wensheng, Gao Lingzhi, Sun Bo and Lu Chaochao were awarded as the advanced individuals in the 2017 performance evaluation.

Such honors reflect recognition and encouragement of the project owner to UCD, and earnest anticipation to its future performance. The design team of Line 3 Phase I will continuously carry forward the corporate values of “customer first, struggle and creditability centering and pursuing excellence”, better services to project owners and projects, fully demonstrate UCD’s technical level and comprehensive strength, and achieve better results.
