600 Days of Safe Operation of Modern Energy Storage Tramcar in Ningbo

The modern tramcar energy storage battery charging facilities constructed by UCD’s industrialization department have guaranteed a total of 600 days of safe travel for the townspeople in Ningbo. 

Against the backdrop of resource conservation and green economy practiced globally, the new energy automobiles have developed rapidly, attracting the high attention of all circles to the EV chargers serving as a power guarantee for new energy automobiles. Since the completion of the first-stage project of the modern tramcar energy storage battery charging facilities in Ningbo on September 30, 2016, the EV chargers have supplied power faultlessly for more than 600 days, thus ensuring the safe travel for the townspeople in Ningbo.

The development of the urban public transportation has made it much easier for the townspeople to conduct their travels. New energy automobiles have been constantly put into operation for energy-efficient and emission-reducing green travels. 96 energy storage tramcars shuttle back and forth on the streets of Ningbo, bringing a lot more new changes to the people’s travel in Ningbo. Quite a number of people in Ningbo will quit bicycles, scooters and private cars and turn to buses when they get out, enhancing the awareness to environmental protection through low-carbon travel among the people and strengthening their dependence on public means of transport.

As of the end of the previous year, UCD had built 17 bus battery charging stations and 51 EV chargers in Ningbo, which are now all in service for Bus Nos. 330, 306, 207, 14 and 305 in the city and are reviewed favorably by the townspeople. The construction of the charging infrastructure can be regarded as a stepping stone for Ningbo to open its “era of new energy”, as well as a pygmy effort to the development of public transportation in Ningbo.
