Pipe Rack Expert Team Wins Acclaim from MOHURD

In the past year, the Underground Space and Pipe Rack Center made gratifying achievements in fostering pipe rack brands, guiding the industrial development, conducting product research and development and opening up markets, and the center played a positive role as a think tank of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD).

The Underground Space and Pipe Rack Center has actively participated in the formulation of national technical standards, rules and regulations on the operation and maintenance of pipe racks and in regard to safety techniques, and has participated in the compilation of 10 national, industrial and guild technical rules, standards, regulations, drawings and measures, etc. In addition, the center has also actively participated in the compilation of A Guide to the Construction of Urban Underground Pipe Racks presided over by MOHURD. Being typically exemplary, 1 planning case compiled with the center’s participation and 3 engineering design cases with the center in charge of compilation have all been selected in the guide book. The center has undertaken two research topics respectively from Ministry of Science and Technology and Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission：Research and Demonstration of Urban Underground Pipe Rack Safety Monitoring and Control Technology and Research of Existing Road Long-Life Technology Based on Disease Detection and Pipe Rack Intelligent Management System. The center has established the scientific research team jointly with Jing Tou Pipe Rack Company to come up with a multi-source operation and maintenance information classification method for intelligent pipe rack management, realizing the visualization of dynamic monitoring information and the overall management of operation and maintenance information, and the team has developed the intelligent operation and maintenance management system suited to comprehensive pipe racks. The center has participated in the topic researches launched by Beijing Municipal Standard Office and Beijing Municipal Planning Institute and has formed the guiding Instance Graphs of Pipe Rack Design and A Guideline to the Planning and Design of Pipe Racks. The center has set up the standardized technology industrialization platform, actively boosted the organic combination of scientific research innovation and achievement transformation, and implemented the projects such as electronic well lids and the pipe rack intelligence system, to provide new economic growth engines for the development of the enterprises.

The pipe rack expert team led by Xiao Ran has actively participated in the national underground pipe rack development research, formation of standards and policies, and inspection and tutoring of plans. For this reason, MOHURD has sent a letter of thanks for the contributions made by the team to the development of the national pipe rack industry！
