Fifth“Health Cup”3X3 Basketball Matches Played Successfully

September in the golden autumn ushers in the most beautiful season of Beijing. On Sep. 19, the fifth 3x3 basketball matches of“Health Cup”kicked off passionately at the Game On Basketball Center in Beijing. UCD’s party secretary Li Guoqing, deputy party secretary and chairperson of UCD’s trade union Mi Jianzhou, chief financial officer Xiao Mujun and deputy director of the rail transit research institute Hua Fucai attended the event. At the opening ceremony, chief financial officer Xiao Mujun delivered a message on behalf of the sponsor, deputy director of the rail transit research institute Hua Fucai delivered a message on behalf of the organizer, and chairperson of UCD’s trade union Mi Jianzhou announced the formal start of the matches. Chief financial officer Xiao Mujun and deputy director Hua Fucai kicked off for the first match. Leaders like party secretary Li Guoqing and chairperson Mi Jianzhou issued awards to winners at the closing ceremony.

The matches were sponsored by UCD’s trade union and undertaken by the rail transit research institute. Through meticulous organizing and planning, employees signed up enthusiastically for the matches and more than one hundred players took part. Led by trade union chairpersons of various units, 20 teams of 13 units took part in the matches. The teams were from UCD’s administrative organs, the rail transit research institute, the municipal institute, the architectural institute, the urban construction institute, Jing Jian Company, the surveying institute, the overseas institute, the intelligence control company, Huan An Company, the rail transit company, the new rail institute and An Jie Company. Professional referees were invited for all the matches to ensure the fairness and squareness of the matches. The matches were divided into group round robins and knockout matches. All units sent their excellent players for the games, where players were of full vim and vigor and played with great effort, manifesting the spirit of forging ahead in unity and with intelligence and boldness.“Surprise winners”emerged frequently in the matches. In a day’s fierce competitions, the first team of the surveying institute won the championship, the first team of the rail transit research institute won second place and the basketball team of the new rail transit institute won third place. The second team of the rail transit research institute and the first teams of the municipal institute, the rail company, Huan An Company, the municipal institute and the urban construction institute won the Top Eight Award.

With their fine mental outlook, exquisite skills and high morale, the players presented excellent visual feasts one after another for the spectators, turning the competition site into an ocean of passion. The basketball matches tremendously enriched the spare-time cultural lives of the employees and brought about solid cohesion among employees！We look forward to a better excellence in the coming year！
