 “Research on Innovation and Development of PPP and TOD in Urban Rail Transit” High-level Forum was Successfully Held

 

The “Research on Innovation and Development of PPP and TOD in Urban Rail Transit” Forum, sponsored by China Association of Metros (CAMET), co-sponsored by Engineering Consulting Specialized Committee of CAMET and undertaken by Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group Co., Limited (UCD), was held in Beijing on the afternoon of June 20. The main leaders of CAMET and its Engineering Consulting Specialized Committee, as well as over 400 leaders and experts from over 200 government sectors, rail companies, design consulting units and equipment manufacturers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc., attended the forum. Zhou Xiaoqin, the standing vice-chairman of CAMET and Wang Hanjun, the general manager of UCD, were invited to attend the forum and deliver their speeches.

General Manager Wang Hanjun pointed out in his speech that, as the vice president unit of CAMET and the supporting unit of Engineering Consulting Specialized Committee, UCD adheres to the mission to “Design the City, Build the Future”, and is dedicated to being an integrated service provider for urban construction featured by urban rail transit by integrating the capital and scientific strength. With the forum held, UCD is willing to discuss and communicate the research achievements on the innovation and development of PPP and TOD in urban rail transit together with invited experts, explore new knowledge and broaden the common ground with leaders at all levels, academic experts and elites, input energy in the urban rail transit industry and promote its development.

As one of the thematic forums of the “2017 China Urban Rail Transit High-level Forum” sponsored by CAMET, this forum, themed by “Research on Innovation and Development of PPP and TOD in Urban Rail Transit”, invited experts from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., LTD (BII), the Beijing MTR Corporation (BJMTR), and the China Metro Engineering Consulting Corporation (CMECC), etc. to deliver keynote speeches. Guest speakers analyzed the successful cases and lack of experience in promoting the PPP and TOD of urban rail transit in many domestic cities, interpreted the policy support that China provided in promoting the new development patterns including PPP and TOD, and brought forward the instructions and development proposals on the way to solve the sustainable development of urban rail transit.

In the open dialogical phase after keynote speeches, the participating representatives asked questions actively, and guest speakers answered patiently. They communicated and interacted on the new problems, new thoughts and new directions in the innovation and development of PPP and TOD in urban rail transit, leading to a lively atmosphere.

This forum not only improved the communication among participating units and promoted their mutual understanding, studying, innovative thinking as well as mutual improvement, but also established a platform for industrial communication to promote the sufficient communication and interaction of industries in the integrative development of PPP and TOD, which converges knowledge and makes contributions to improving the construction and operation management of urban rail transit, and assists the continuous and rapid development of urban rail transit industry in China.
