Congratulations on Two Projects of UCD Won 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award

 

Recently, the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have held 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Awards Conference grandly. At the conference, the Project of Key Technologies Research and Application for Construction of Beijing Rail Transit Network applied by UCD has won the second prize of the 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award; the Code for Monitoring Measurement of Urban Rail Transit Engineering mainly edited by UCD has won the third prize of the 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Award. The Beijing Science and Technology Award is the highest municipal science and technology award established by the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.

The conference has announced the Decision of People’s Government of Beijing Municipality on 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Awards, and pointed out that the award results show the innovation advantages of numerous advanced talents as well as strong scientific and technological base of Beijing, and provide the source running water for strengthening the construction of National Center for Science & Technology Innovation (the Center) and deepening the structural reform of supply side.

Leaders such as Guo Jinlong, the member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Cai Qi, the Deputy Party Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing and Li Meng, Party member and Vice-minister of MOST have attended the conference and presented the awards to representatives. Cai Qi, moreover, on behalf of the Beijing Municipal Committee and the municipal government, has delivered a speech. He pointed out that the construction of the Center, is an important support for deepening the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy and building global powerful nation of science and technology, is the strategic positioning of Beijing for further implementing Four Centers, is the key and hope for optimizing and upgrading capital core functions and the key and hope of the article ( Do Well in reliving and Seeking Development), which has great responsibility and glorious mission. Under the joint efforts of the whole city, the construction of the Center has obtained important progress, remarkable achievements in independent innovation, constant deepening in innovation of institutional mechanism and accelerated coordinated innovation.

Brief introduction of winning projects:

Key Technologies Research and Application for Construction of Beijing Rail Transit Network has won the second prize of the 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award.

Based on the implementation of Beijing rail transit network and the concept of innovation, coordination, green and sharing, the Project has systematically studied and solved technical issues such as scale and standard, network resource allocation, new technology application of express subway and modern tram, historic preservation, innovation of investment and financing system as well as comprehensive utilization of land existing in network construction. It has initiated the “five-dimensional” comprehensive assessment technology system for domestic rail transit network construction scale and standard, achieved network operation and management, established the construction standards of express subway for the first time, applied the modern tram technology in Beijing rail transit construction for the first time, formed modern tram application evaluation system and technical standards, built a “SIR” rail transit construction, cultural relic and environmental protection technology system, established investment and financing system of rail transit network construction as well as initiated upper cover comprehensive utilization technology for “3R” vehicle depot in China. The scientific research achievements of the Project have been applied in the construction of Beijing rail transit, and promoted in various cities of China.

The Code for Monitoring Measurement of Urban Rail Transit Engineering has won the third prize of the 2016 Beijing Science and Technology Award.

The Code for Monitoring Measurement of Urban Rail Transit Engineering was mainly edited by the UCD Beijing Urban Construction Exploration & Surveying Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. In compilation, considering the features such as complicated geological and environmental conditions as well as diverse construction methods in China comprehensively, the Code has summarized the practical experience of engineering monitoring systematically, and made detailed provisions on the monitoring technology requirements of construction and operation. The Code has filled the gap in the urban rail transit monitoring technologies and met the needs of China’s urban rail transit construction. Besides, it possesses advanced nature and innovativeness, which has reached the leading domestic level, provided technical support for the quality safety of the national rail transit construction, and promoted the sound development of urban rail transit construction in China and industrial scientific and technological progress.
