UCD Wins First Prize in the 6th Job Skills Competition

Recently, the urban and rail transit construction company, one of UCD’s subsidiaries, took a first in the 6th Job Skills Competition of the rail transit sector in Beijing.

With a total of two competitive events offered, the skills competition constituted an important part of the“Quality Safety Month”for Rail Transit Construction of Beijing in 2017. Named“Battle of Tongue”, the first event was a contest in which technicians of all construction units were asked to disclose their technical expertise and squad or team leaders give pre-shift pep talks. The contest was aimed at examining the proficiency of the technicians, squad and team leaders as well as veracity and comprehensiveness of their expressions. The second event, known as“Sharp Eyes”, was to check how safety inspectors and supervisors would deal with the hidden safety hazards in vehicle hoisting work, including static test after the vehicle was hoisted in the yard, stand-by supervision over the preparatory work, and stand-by supervision over crane lifting operations, etc. By way of the two events and the“last-minute sortilege + spot appraisal”, three single awards and one consolidated award were issued to the winners from among 99 competitors of 51 units.

The urban and rail transit construction company had actively made preparations for the participation in the 6th Job Skills Competition sponsored by Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development with“Implement Entity Responsibility and Improve Job Skills”as the theme. Through selective trials conducted for all rail transit construction projects, the company had earnestly enhanced its on-site construction and safety quality management levels and had further facilitated the safety quality standardization across the board on all construction sites.
