The First T-shaped Girder Successfully Erected in the Construction of the Middle Part of the Airport Highway in Dianzhong New District of Kunming

On the morning of March 25, firecrackers and fireworks were set off on the construction site of the Shuanglong Bridge, a project underway at the middle part (a section from Wenlin Road to the North Airport Highway) of the Airport Highway in Dianzhong New District of Kunming. Being operated attentively, rigorously and skillfully by the construction workers, a bridge girder erection machine was descending slowly, placing a prefabricated 40-meter-long T-shaped girder of 137 tons firmly on the 0#～1# piers of the Shuanglong Bridge, marking the successful erection of the first T-shaped girder in the construction of the middle part of the Airport Highway in Dianzhong New District of Kunming and symbolizing a significant progress made in the most important link of the dominant engineering on the whole route, thus accumulating rich field-work experience for subsequent installation of T-shaped girders.

There are 2 bridges at the middle part (a section from Wenlin Road to the North Airport Highway) of the Airport Highway in Dianzhong New District, which calls for a total of 506 pieces of T-shaped girders prefabricated. As the left side of the Shuanglong Bridge is 529.08 meters long and the right side of it 569.08 meters long, to ensure the successful erection of the first girder, UCD made meticulous arrangements, optimized the construction schemes and worked out detailed hoisting plans and security technology schemes；technical workers made safety checks and debugging times without number；Project Department’s personnel all worked meticulously and successfully completed the erection of the first T-shaped girder in the construction of the middle part of the Airport Highway in Dianzhong New District. To date, the girder fabrication yard at the Shuanglong Bridge  has successfully prefabricated 83 T-shaped girders, laying a solid foundation for the linkup of the entire bridge.

The project of the middle part of the Airport Highway in Dianzhong of Kunming is one of the first PPP demonstration projects of Dianzhong New Area of Yunnan, as well as the first PPP project of “ Urban Road + Comprehensive Pipe Rack” undertaken by UCD.
