2016 China (Shenzhen) Urban Rail Traffic Key Technologies cum the 25th Subway Academic Exchanges Conference held in Shenzhen

Between April 21 and 22, the 2016 China (Shenzhen) Urban Rail Traffic Key Technologies cum the 25th Subway Academic Exchanges Conference was held in Shenzhen. The conference, sponsored by the Urban Rail Traffic Technical Work Committee of China Civil Engineering Society, received more than 300 participants from rail traffic construction, design and research institutes, universities, five major central enterprises and other enterprises of construction industry as well as equipment manufacturers.

On April 21, Wang Hanjun, director-general of Urban Rail Traffic Technical Work Committee and general manager of Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group Co., Ltd.(UCD), presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Guo Yunchong, director-general of China Civil Engineering Society and former vice minister of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Guo Lin, vice minister of former Ministry of Railways, Mr. Zhao Penglin, deputy commander-in-chief of Shenzhen Rail Traffic Construction Headquarters, and Xiao Min, general manager of Shenzhen Metro Group, addressed the conference.

The theme of the conference is the Innovation and Application of the Construction Process and Technology of Urban Rail Traffic Projects. Wang Mengshu, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. A total of 26 speechmakers made themed reports to discuss new technologies, new process, infrastructure operation and maintenance technologies and equipment for urban rail traffic construction as well as related criteria and management methods. Innovative technologies and success experience of two projects that won the 2015 Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize were shared at the conference. Huang Fulian from UCD delivered a report titled Survey, the Precondition for Smart Metro.

A total of 18 projects, including Key Technologies for the Expansion Design of the Project Information Center, AFC Test Center and ACC/TCC System of Beijing Urban Traffic Control Center Phase II and the Construction Technologies of Nanning Urban Rail Traffic Control Network of UCD, were honored “the technical innovation promotion projects in urban rail traffic field”. The conference received 66 papers and launched them in a book. A total of 20 papers including some from UCD were evaluated as excellent ones.
