Two projects of the company win Tien-Yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize

 

On March 30, the awarding ceremony of the 13th Tien-Yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize was held in Beijing. Two projects, namely, the Beijing Subway Line 9 and the Beijing Rail Transit Yizhuang Line, for which the company serves as one of the constructors, won the prize.

The prize finally went to 38 projects out of 154 nominated ones. Of them, there are 12 building projects, 4 bridge projects, 2 tunnel projects, 2 road projects, 1 water conservancy and hydropower project and 2 water transportation projects, 4 rail transit projects, 1 public transportation project, 1 municipal engineering project, 1 water supply project, 1 gas engineering projects, 2 overseas projects, 3 residence community projects and 2 national defense construction projects.

The Tien-Yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize (Tien-Yow Jeme Prize for short), which is approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, accredited by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and jointly supported and directed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, China Railway Corporation, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Water Resources, aims to carry forward the spirit of “science and technology innovation” and commend and reward engineering projects with outstanding achievements in science and technology innovation and application of new technologies. It was initiated by China Civil Engineering Society in 1999. So far, 13 sessions have been held and a total of 374 representative civil engineering projects with high-level application of science and technology have been awarded, of which, 12 projects were from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas. The Tien-Yow Jeme Prize reflects the highest-level civil engineering technology and the latest science and technology innovation and application in China.
