Summit on Decision Making and Consulting for Rail Transit Integration and Coordinated Land Utilization and Development
in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei held at Shijiazhuang Tiedao University
On December 10, the Summit on Decision Making and Consulting for Rail Transit Integration and Coordinated Land Utilization and Development in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei was held at Shijiazhuang Tiedao University. More than 100 attendees, including Du Yanliang, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Guohua, dean of Institute of Comprehensive Transportation Research of City and Town Reform & Development Centre of NDRC, and experts and scholars from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, had discussions about issues related to the rail transit integration in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
The summit is a regional academic service activity jointly initiated by China Civil Engineering Society and Hebei Association for Science and Technology. Authorized by China Association for Science and Technology, the Committee of Urban Rail Transit Technology of China Civil Engineering Society was in charge of the specific implementation of the activity, while Shijiazhuang Tiedao University was in charge of the organization of the activity.
At the opening ceremony of the summit, the “Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Rail Transit Innovation Center” was established under the initiation of the Committee of Urban Rail Transit Technology of China Civil Engineering Society and the joint proposal of ten institutions engaged in related production, education, research and application, including Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Intercity Railways Investment Co., Ltd, Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Co., Ltd, Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group Co., Limited, the Third Railway Survey and Design Institute Group Corporation, China Railway Liuyuan Group Co., Ltd., Southwest Jiaotong University and China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. The center will base on the strategic objectives and market demand for rail transit integration in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to integrate related advantageous resources, jointly carry out researches and practices related to theoretical and technical innovation and policy proposals for rail transit integration, and promote cooperation in research and development for key science and technology projects at national, local and enterprise levels, so as to establish a policy proposal and technical support platform for the development of rail transit in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
The summit themed on “Rail Transit Integration and Coordinated Land Utilization and Development in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei” is a closely integrated with the significant national strategy for coordinated and integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. At the summit, ten experts exchanged opinions on the following issues: policies related to transportation integration in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei; the way of institutional innovation for coordinated rail transit and urban development; planning for the intercity railway network in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei; coordination development between the urban rail transit and land use; plans for development of railways in Hebei and rail transit in Shijiazhuang under the program for coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei; the case of Tokyo metropolitan area in terms of integrated development of rail transit and land utilization. In addition, they had in-depth discussions about how to improve the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance for the development of rail transit in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, how to realize effective connection between rail transit systems at different levels, tackling of critical points and standardization of the key and common technologies for rail transit integration, and establishing an energy-saving, environment-friendly and low-carbon rail transit network in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
The high-grade summit, with a number of excellent reports, provided a platform for the decision makers, famous academicians and experts as well as senior management of enterprises to exchange opinions with each other. The experts and scholars said that the summit was grand event for exchanging opinions on rail transit integration and coordinated land utilization and development in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei through special researches, academic discussion and proposals for decision making, and good results were achieved.
