Xiasha Extension Section of Hangzhou Metro Line 1 put into operation
The project of the 16th section, namely, the extension section from Wenze Road Station to Jiangbin Station in Xiasha of Hangzhou Metro Line 1, designed by the general contractor Beijing Urban Construction Design & Development Group Co., Ltd., was put into trial operation on November 24, 2015, marking the complete operation of Metro Line 1. Hangzhou Metro Line 1 has a total length of 53.6 kilometers, with 34 stations including 3 elevated stations and 31 underground stations. The line has one parking lot, one depot, one control center and four main substations.
The extension project starts from Wenze Road and ends at Jiangbin Road, about 5.6 kilometers in total. The line is completely underground and has three stations. The trial operation of the extension section of Metro Line 1 brings the total mileage of Hangzhou Metro Network to about 82 kilometers from 76 kilometers. Currently, 670,000 trips are made everyday via the metro network, making the metro an important means of travel for local residents.
